In Search of the Holy Grail.......A Great Shrimp PoBoy!. As a longtime Louisiana transplant in Atlanta, I decided to go in search of the "Holy Grail"....The Shrimp PoBoy.

I started with the last place that I had a good one, The French Quarter Food Shop, in midtown. Of course they had long since closed, along with The Stein Club, the last normal bar in Atlanta.

I found the old location, and did some more investigating.

These guys are in Chamblee, now, in a neat old house, just behind Eugenia's Antique Hardware Store, along the Marta tracks near old Town Chamblee on American Industrial Way.

They moved around Mother's Day are are trying to get the word out.

Bingo! I felt a rush as I pulled into the parking lot.

I had a Shrimp PoBoy, with a side of Red Beans and a Cup of Gumbo. The Bread was Crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside, great remoulade sauce, crisp lettuce and fresh tomatoes and fresh fried shrimp. Perfect Combo. The Gumbo was great, and the Red Beans were just fine.

As a Bonus they served Luzianne Iced Tea, which I think is the best.

The menu looked more than interesting, from Old Standards to gourmet cajun entrees. Can't wait to try other items.

Fair Pricing, personable staff, and a great in town location. I am tired of all of the standard Atlanta Chain Restaurants, and like an alternative to a Burrito or Burger.

It was a bit of a Hunt, but I like a challenge and was determined to find that darn Po-Boy! You can be assured, that when the Privat Family of Chefs is involved, your food will be great!

Amazing food. I tasted their food at Taste of Chamblee and came back for more. The furniture is a little mismatched, but beyond that, the restaurant is great. I had an oyster salad, fried green beans, and a eggplant enchilada. All were outstanding. The service was prompt and friendly. The beer selection was limited, but I was reassured that this will improve shortly.

Superb Food. At the new location, I've eaten there twice and believe the menu and food is even better. I had a ribeye (slightly overcooked) with a superb etoufee served over it. Saturday I ordered Shrimp with tasso served over fried grits which blew me away. A very unique dish which cannot be found anywhere else.

Very nice atmosphere, good prices - very good food. We are fortunate to have Beyond the Bayou in Chamblee.

The new number is 678=691=3684.Check out this location. It is opened 7 days a week. That have spiced up the menu and you have to go.

Best cajun food around. I'm from Louisiana and know that the food is supposed to have taste, not just burn the hell out of your mouth. Although, if you do want something like that, ask for their special hot sauce that the sous chef makes by himself! I haven't been there in a while because I have been working too much lately but may have to stop by soon. Also, for what you pay the portions of food are ENORMOUS; especially at lunch, it's crazy.

great food. This is my local hang out and I have to disagree with your comment about the food. I not sure what kind of idea you have about cajun food but, it is not suppose to be spicy. Maybe you where looking for creole food. Maybe you need to go to a chain restaurant instead. If you are looking for good food, great beers and not pay alot for what you get than this is the place to be. Maybe for the previous reviewer you should stay at the wing ranch with there great frozen food and other little problems. I don't know about you but it I had a bad meal somewhere I would complain to the management staff while I was there.

Take it from someone who likes good food and not frozen wings. Go try this place you will love it.....

NASTY!!!. Ate here for lunch and will NEVER go back!!! If you want authentic cajun food....this is NOT the place!!! Ordered the red beans and rice and crawfish etouffee, no taste very bland. Should have went to the wing place next door.
