Not the worst, but not its worth
by MizzGlamDiva
It was about 4 weeks ago when I went, but I went to Shout this past weekend to compare the two in the chain. I went w/ a small group (5 total) We made reservations & everyone was there on time, yet still had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. The NY Strip, to me, was overpriced by the ounce, so I paid the $5 difference for the Kanses Strip. I didnt like having to pay extra for the sides, so we all bought 2 & shared. I ordered my steak medium-well, but instead got it medium rare. My steak was cold before the waitress returned so I could send it back. The manager ended up bringing my steak back & did not leave until I gave him the thumbs up. (I appreciated that) So after we finished eating & our dishes were taken up, we sat & talked a while before going upstairs to the "club" while waiting on the check plus a friend to get there. Literally 5 minutes AFTER our friend got there, our waitress finally brought us our check & had the nerves to charge gratuity. (Gratuity's only for parties of 6+) Our reservations were for 5, only 5 ate & only 5 had a tab to pay. Where did she get 6 from if she never serviced our friend who only had been there for 5 minutes & AFTER we'd asked for the tab already?? So we refused to pay for a high gratuity which hardly matched the service, not to mention it was under false pretense. We didnt mind tipping, but I think she kind of assumed we weren't going to. When we'd asked her why so much, she came up w/ a weak excuse so we asked for a manager. I could tell she was upset because she developed an attitude. So this one guy came over, HE WAS NOT THE SAME GUY WHO CHECKED ON MY STEAK. I think she just grabbed some random guy. She ended up taking it off & ended up with a lower tip we probably would have given anyway. So we go upstairs, it wasn't crowded & the music was great, BUT no one was dancing. There was plenty of seats around, even at the bar, but the drinks, average cost, were weak! All in all, I loved the atmosphere the most!
- Pros: Decor, Clean facility, Good Food, Great Music & Great Saturday night crowd, Singles spot
- Cons: Price of food, staff, Wait with reservations, People don't dance, Weak drinks
Chef's special was Delicious!!!!!

I recently took my parents here for their 35th anniversary. We definitely got the 5 star treatment from the moment we sat down. We were seated alone in a private room off the main dining area. The wait staff was extremely attentive and quickly responded to all of our requests. The featured entree was recommended to us by the manager and our waiter which is what I ordered. It was fabulous!!! It was Red Snapper with poblano grits and beans. YUM YUM!!
- Pros: great food, friendly wait staff, 'hip' atmosphere
- Cons: $$$$
Not Worth It

STRIP is one of the worst restaurants I have ever dined at. If I had not waited to get in, and if I was not as hungry as I was I probably would have sent all of my food back and left. The service is terrible, the food takes forever, and the drinks are never refilled. My boyfriend ordered the New York Strip Steak, (by the way all meat is a'la carte so you pay about $20 for the steak, and then $5 more for a side item). So all in all he got a $30 meal. The steak was about as good as one from Red Lobster, which is not bad, but also not worth $20. The fries tasted like they were from Wendy's, which also is not too bad, but it kind of stinks when you are paying an additional $5 for them. I ordered the spiced duck breast because the server said it was "absolutely astounding." I am a huge fan of duck so I wanted to give it a try. The meal was also $20. It was very small, and the best thing about it was the potato and vegetable medley. The duck itself was soggy (skin and all). It did have a good flavor, but texture, price, and quality wise, this meal was a failure and definitely not "astounding." With all the mishaps, STRIP did deliver a well made triple chocolate cake for dessert. It was large, actually worth the price, and rich. We will not be returning in the future, and you are better off spending $100 on a meal somewhere else in Atlantic Station.
- Pros: Atmosphere, dessert, large bar area, outside and upstair dining
- Cons: Price, service, taste and quality of food, portion of food, wait time for service and food
worst lunch ever
by whittney01
My friend and I decided to carouse around Atlantic Station on our day off and have lunch and do a little shopping. We were thinking about Mexican, but decided on Strip. I'm iffy about the Atlantic Station restuarants, but being in the 'industry' ourselves we are very familiar with Tom Catheral's resturants ( we frequent and have friends that work in them) and the reputation they have and strive to be. Anyways, we had lunch. Well, painfully had lunch at Strip. We waited thirty minutes for a cold sandwhich and a piece of overcooked fish. We sat at the table for 15 minutes with no silverware and no coasters for the tap water that was sweating all over the table. Even after a drink order had been placed. I ordered my salad dressing on the side and my salad came drenched with dressing. My drink came out with liquid and salt all over the glass and not on the rim at all. Ten bucks for a margarita not properly prepared and slow. I had the sandwhich heated up (french dip) and by the end of the meal we were just ready to get the hell outta dodge. Unfortunately, it took another ten minutes for her to come and pick up our check after she dropped the bill. Total lunch time: 1 hour and thirty five minutes, most the the time spent waiting and not eating. Way too long. No manager in sight ever. No apologies from the waitress. We honestly felt like no one there gave cared about anything, from start to finish. Probably won't go back.
- Pros: Atlantic Station
- Cons: overpriced
