Laura Meehan highly recommended. Went to Helmet after trying soooo many other salons around Atlanta (Key Lime, Van Michael, Aveda, Vivid, etc) and never finding any one I liked enough to go back. Gave Helmet a shot, tried Laura who is one of the junior stylists. Since she is a jr stylist my cut was only $45, but the cut was so amazing that it looked like I had paid double that. Laura took her time, listened to what I wanted, and worked with me to get it perfect. The salon itself is great too, very chill, not trying hard to be overtly trendly like some other places I have been. Left completely happy now and will definitely return! A ridiculously good deal for a top notch haircut.

Best Value In Atlanta (Hidden Secret) !!!!. Best Value in Atlanta. I've been to many salons in Atlanta Carter Barnes / Van Michaels / Key Lime Pie and have spent in the upper $300 for my cut and color. Susan at the Helmet Highlands has more talent and a better personality than any one I have ever meet. I was shocked at how nice she is and that she took the time to listen to what i wanted and made great suggestions that she thought would look great. She was confident but not cocky (SHES MORE THAN GOOD ENOUGH TO BE COCKY) Ive never been so happy with my hair. I have the perfect blend of blondes and my cut is sexy and bouncy without effort. Ill be a loyal customer from this point on.

Great place for cut and color.. Ask for Sara. She's great! I went in and she gave great consultation. My hair tends to turn a funky shade when it hasn't been colored in awhile and she suggested finishing it with a gloss to make it last longer and enrich the color throughout. It worked really well!

I LOVE my new stylist/salon!!!. After over a year of all-one-color hair (and despite begging my former stylist repeatedly to make my color more natural looking) I found Michael Blaylock at Helmet in Va-Highland. What a great guy -- we clicked immediately plus he fixed my formerly yellow-blonde, non-dimensional haircolor. I also got a tiny trim as I'm trying to grow it out, but the color is absolutely perfect. He gave me allover highlights using 3 different shades and now it looks like natural blonde hair again! He's fun to talk to and the salon was clean and friendly. I can't wait to see him again in a few weeks for my touch-up.

Best hairdresser in ATLANTA. Susan Kelley is a amazing stylist, I get nothing but compliments on my haircut and highlights. She is the first stylist that actually listened to what i wanted and gave me excellent results. I have never been so happy. This is first time i have taken time to give praise to anyone but she deserves it. I have recommend her to everyone i know and they love her.

Best Salon in Atlanta!. So, I had a previous bad experience with color at another salon, where they did what looked like thick panel stripes. After a week of embarrassing criticism from friends and family, I decided to give Helmet a try since they had such great reviews and a friend of mine recommended Susan. At first, I was a bit reluctant because of my past experience and the fact that I wanted it to look natural and not like stripper stripes, but it was time for a change. I must say that I absolutely fell in love with Susan's work! My natural hair is a dark brown and the bad experience gave me golden panels. Susan on the other hand, toned my color, perfectly blended everything for a more natural look, gave me caramel brown highlights and deep conditioned my hair for a silky shine that I didn?t know I had. After my color I decided to have her wax my eyebrows, which is something that I had never done before since I didn?t want to look like Joan Crawford, but I was in the mood to treat myself. Susan once again did a great job, my eyebrows were very masculine and did not look like Ms. Crawford. Aside from my service, Susan has a great personality, enjoys engaging in conversation with you and makes you feel right at home. Overall, the atmosphere at Helmet in the Highlands is very friendly and warm and the decor is amazing; I would highly recommend this salon and Susan as a stylist. She Rocks!!!!!!

HORRIBLE. Horrible hair cut and color by susan, I'm sorry but you should have more training because now I am stuck with it. I am crying as I am typing this. I am never gonna go back to helmet because I look like one. sorry susan and good luck.

best mens cut ** SUSAN. I recently wondered in to the Highlands Helmet and ended up with SUSAN. She listened to what i wanted and delivered. Great conversation Best cut Ive ever had. Great location and price. Book with her shes awesome.

Best Salon...even better stylists. I love my hair and I trust it only to Susan at the Highlands location! I have gone to the best salons in the city but she has by far been THE BEST. I have a lot of hair and always need highlights and a trim. I always receive many compliments on my hair. Susan is so sweet and always takes the time to do it right. They have a great variety of products from Aveda to Bumble and Bumble. I highly recommend for everyone to make their appointment with Susan. You won't regret it!

Color me beautiful!. I lived in Hong Kong this past summer and my roommate got a really cool two-tone color (Black on top/Purple in the bottom). I knew the colors wouldn't suite me but I loved the idea. Eventually, when I got back to the States, I convidenced myself that I too would color my hair a two tone. Priced my hairdresser and knew right away that I wasn't going to pay that much. I looked on City Search and various other websites looking at reviews and costs. I went to one salon I found on City Search and the gentlemen I had a consultation with didn't make me feel very comfortable, so I continued to look. Well, finally I decided on Helmet Hair Salon. The colorist, Shannon, was great from the beginning. I'm a teacher with a tight schedule and she fit me in the very day I called for a consultation. She made me feel very at ease with my choices and gave great suggestion for colors that would complement my skin tone. I returned a week later to have my hair colored. Long story short: She was very attentive, we had great conversation, and the color turned out great. Now I have to admit that on the website it said first time clients would get 20% off. I was only given a 10% discount. I called back to clear up the matter. Cara was the manager that I spoke with and she explained the mix up and was quick to offer a solution. I plan on going back. Take it from someone who was worried to get her hair colored, didn't want to be over charged, and belives in customer service. It's worth giving her a try.
