Great Thai and Malaysian

This is for everyone I didn't already rave about this restaurant to. If you're looking for a good selection of asian food Tin Drum is a gem. I stumbled across it when I was in the area trying to get some books from the GT library (the address is right across the 5th street bridge from campus). It didn't seem pretentious and everything exceeded my expectations. The prices are at less than $10.

• Pros: The food is excellent
• Cons: You will be a walking curry (at times)

EXCELLENT ASIAN FOOD

EXCELLENT food is the first thing I should mention. I have not found another store that has had the variety of dishes and I am constantly satisfied with any dish I order. The atmosphere is casual and service is better than any place I've been to in the last couple of months. The cashiers and servers were all very helpful with any questions I had and made my eating experience enjoyable. This place has got me hooked and I HIGHLY reccomend it.

• Pros: Great food, great service, friendly atmosphere
• Cons: They are busy during lunch hours but its worth the wait.

Tin Drum is DRY - but with extra sauce it's GREAT!

The food is generally very good (I love the Tin Drum dish) but as another reviewer wrote sometimes it's dry sometimes it's normal... I usually find it more dry than normal and ask for extra curry sauce (for the Tin Drum) . The muscle man (possible asst manager) was rather arrogant and actually asked us three times (like WE were crazY) if we were SURE we wanted even more sauce!

After a very delayed delivery, he even suggested another item that was not supposed to be "just a glaze" ...when we left I looked at the menu and its totally different dish with broccoli, tomato and bell pepper - not quite "the Tin Drum" with chicken, fresh spinach and almonds only. They just need more sauce!

The arrogance of the muscle man really bothered all 4 of us (2 said they wouldn't return) as well as driving us to the point of taking the to write a review.

I will write another review on another visit. I promise.

• Cons: arrogant servers, long lines t lunch and non effecient processing of orders at cash register
