The Good, The Bad, The Ugly: Location, Food, Manager. After an hour of waiting and watching people around us sit down, eat, and leave, we finally recieved our cold food. Our drinks were never refilled until asked to do so, and we waited around for over another hour to simply request the check. When asked to speak with a manager he refused to come to the table and speak with us. He claimed he was too busy to even acknowledge us and even hear us out. Finally, after we literally searched the restaurant for the manager he claimed there was no point in even talking to us because there was nothing he felt he could do. As we were leaving we informed him we would never be returning and he nonchalantly smiled and said "Ok". I would greatly recommend never to attend Jalapeno Charlie's EVER...especially if you have other plans for an evening or enjoy eating warm food. I would not wish this experience upon anybody!

avoid if at all ;possible. I went by myself for what should have a been a nice quick meal. Like the reviewers below the service I must concur is awful . I started my meal asking for reccomendations, my waiter couldnt speak English.

I recognize that not everyone speaks English however what one reccomends isnt something that shouldnt be understood by the person serving me. I was never asked how my meal was , I was never given a refill on water and my server was no where to be found. I asked another server for water and appaerantly that was too challenging a task for him as well. I ordered dessert at this point as well as asking for more water since i wasnt about to order a drink at this point.. The place was barely half full if that. Lotsa staff little service.

Before my dessert arrived the staff had time to watch a fight on the street below ( how unprofessional). If this place went out of business it would be no loss.I am certain there is one hardworking worthy individual in their restaurant- but they were not found in my visit. I suspect the tourists keep them in business and its sad that there is no attempt at repeat business.

I also question their management's training and standards if they have any.

Oh the food was subpar at best-

the dessert Flan had canned peaches on the side, some form of stewed dates that looked as though they had been stewed in a can for over a year. The garnish of chocolate and raspberry sauce was on the side of the plate . I wish i couldve gone into to the kitchen and ordered dishes the chef could use to garnish within the parameters of a plate, a universal standard of any decent restaurant. wow- just awful and I wasnt even trying to be critical. To add to the irritation I had to hunt down my check.

but it was worth it to see another waiter challenged at another table to remove 2 empty botles of beer and a chip basket at once- he struggled with that endeavor. So I guess everyone recieves clumsy non attentive service here.

Terrible!!!. I went there while on business here and it was a terrible experience!!! I had fish tacos that were small and poorly seasoned and my husband's chicken burrito was just as bad! Skimpy cheese and salsa didn't help! Our waiter had no idea what he was doing..maybe he was new. I think sometimes places like think they don't have to worry about quality because they cater to tourists who won't be returning anyway. The only good thing I can say about it is the patio was nice. My money would have been better spent in the food court across the street!!!

Absolutely Horrible Service. Well, let's start with the good stuff - the food. I felt that the food was above average. Creative Mexican American fusion that's different than what you'll find at your normal chain restaurants. Not only different, but it tasted great as well.

That, however, doesn't excuse the absolutely horrendous service. My wife and I waited 15 minutes from seating before we met our waiter. We then waited another 10 minutes for drinks. Finally, another 25 minutes after that, they brought out our entrees and an appetizer at the same time ... we turned away our appetizer, but not before noticing that it wasn't even the same one we had originally ordered!

While we went to the restaurant on a Saturday evening, the restaurant was by no means full (about 80% capacity). There was also an overabundance of wait staff compared to what you might expect at a normal restaurant. I'm at a loss to explain our horrible service.

Average food, poor service, great balcony. The balcony is great. I arrived early on a Thursday evening and was seated promptly. The place was not crowded, with staff outnumbering customers. Most of the staff were sitting at the bar or at tables along the wall. The food is average, and the service was terrible. My water and drink glass were empty long before I finished my meal, and they both remained empty during the rest of my visit. My waiter was one of the many waitstaff sitting along the wall, but he never made a trip to my table. My food arrived fairly quickly, delivered by someone other than my waiter. The food was nothing exceptional. It is too easy to get good Mexican food to waste time at Jalapeno Charlie's.

Downtown ATL's Best New Balcony View Over P'tree! Good Mexican-Fusion!. What was once the old location of Planet Hollywood, at the corner P'tree & Andrew Young International, is now a multi-level of new dining options. And Jalepeno Charlie's does not disappoint. It's on the second leverl of this building, with a great new balcony overlooking Peachtree. Just what we needed to kick-off the return to DT, and new residents. The menu is billed as Mexican-Fusion. After starting with a couple of rounds of very good margerita's and guac., we ordered the house speciality. It's Molcajete. We ordered the beef version-carrots, celery and beef served in a oven heated lava rock. With bubbling Rancherio Sauce and tortillas. Very tasty. We also like the Vegeterian Chili Relleno. And a spicy Cerviche of Talapia. This is a great new place for a after work fiesta, or a good Friday afternoon lunch. Service is brisk, and efficient.

Editorial Review. Latin-Mexican fusion dishes and drinks appeal to convention-goers, tourists and downtown office workers.
