What Our Expert Scouts Say

Pub 71
February 25, 2013

In the heart of Brookhaven, Pub 71 is an Irish pub with plenty of American tendencies. Wings & fish tacos sit side by side on the menu with Shepherd's Pie and fish & chips. Irish ales & ciders are joined by a surprising list of good American craft beers and locals Sweetwater & Terrapin

THIEVES. Be careful using your credit/debit card there- pub 71 will STEAL from you. Apparently I was not the first nor last victim-- remember to check your bank statement immediately to make sure that the charges are correct. I had 3 extra charges on my bank account from this place that were not supposed to be there, and when I called them up, the manager, George, was such a prick about it too. I guess he was used to getting these calls...

I know of 3 others who have had this happened to, and overdrafted their accounts. And when they called to speak to good ol' George, the dick had the same attidude-- what a disgrace to such a fine establishment. I hope George gets his ass kicked one of these days for his customer service skills. The owner should really think about firing George as he will run your pub to the ground with that type of customer service.

Great place for food and drinks!. My friends and I love this place. It is a great place to met up with friends and have a few drinks. I recently tried the food on a Sunday afternoon and it was great.

Fun to drink. 71 is a fun place to drink with friends, but the food is very weak, and the place is far from sanitary. My husband and friends are content with going there for drinks, but we will not eat there.

Dandy!...Nay! Snazzy!. I've only been fortunate enough to post-up and throw-down at Pub 71 a mere handfull of times now, yet both my homies and myself have had only sweet-treats on our tongues for this suprisingly authentic little pub and tummy-rubbin' eatery. The beautiful lady which I have chosen to have (often rather naughty) familial relations with actually proclaimed "Yumma-Lumma-Ding-Dong!" open first sampling Captain Adamo's exquisite Shepherd's Pie recipe...A dish which, let's be honest, can be quite wretched when poorly executed. I think that's a pretty darn good endorsement, even if you foolishly insist on disagreeing. My mate, Mr. Ron is apparently more than eager to preach the golden-fried-gospel-goodness of P71's Fish N' Chips. I don't chomp that fish-fish....so, I'm willing to take his word on that one. Myself? What gets my belly happy? Well, I've thought for near a little minute now that Big Daddy be needin' to try a Reuben sandwich but, had obviously decided to proceed with great caution when selecting which local choke-n-puke to embark on this bold new big-boy-style taste endeavor at. To put it simply: I was so good that, after I had eaten it, I actually wished that I had another one....just so that I could jump up on the table and spike it. That's how dandy...NAY! ...Snazzy that sandwich was! Not only does "mister grumbles" always get a nummy and comforting pub-grub nap but, the staff have always come correct and equipped, courteous and prompt yet in no danger, whatsoever, of moving-in with you. And that's a good thing. In short: I pity the the poor, stupid fools who blindly stumble through their days, over-looking this dark and cozy oasis, pacing in-circles in a bland, flavorless prison on their own ignorant design. My posse can even stroll there, making them perfectly-poored, seductively-frothy, ice-cold, $4 pints of Monday Guinness entirely fat-free and calorie-neutral! PUB 71, fool!

Tursday!. This quaint bar has a big heart. The food is great, the servers are friendly... and they say "Tanks" and "Tursday". What more could you ask for?

Pop your collar & head here. I've been to Pub71 several times & evidently I'm the only one writing a review who has actually eaten there or tried to order anything to drink on the weekend. The food was disappointing and very inconsistent. The two stars are for the friendly servers, however the service can also be unpredictable. The crowd is annoying, especially on the weekends & trying to find parking is unbearable. If there were any other bars in Brookhaven I would certainly not have risked this pub as often as I have.

Editorial Review. This neighborhood Irish pub serves up a wide variety of beers, wines and specialty cocktails as well as reinvented traditional favorite foods.

Very Nice Atmosphere, Very Comfortable and Fun.. I have recently been transfered to Atlanta from Chicago and have really missed The Windy City. This new restaurant find is going to help me adjust! I have been using Citysearch as a Guide for several years and Citysearch is considered to be THE resource in most major cities. New York, Chicago, LA and SanFrancisco depends on Citysearch to reach customers and buyers in thos major areas. I use nothing else, so when I needed a place to feel at home in Atlanta, Citysearch was the logical choice. The reviews for PUB 71 made me feel like this was what I needed! We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and welcoming staff. The steaks and burgers were very well done and the drinks were mixed with enough care to see that this place really cares about their clientele and getting them back in the restaurant. I was told the owner is a trained chef and that he is usually in the restaurant butwe did not meet him. This is typical of a GREAT neighborhood bar in Chicago or New York. The chef/owner is in the business and really cares about what is happening and how the customers are made to feel. I felt like they really cared and that they realy wanted to make us feel at home and very comfortable and welcome. If you don't necessarily have to have grits and fried green tomatoes, try PUB 71 for some really good comfort food that would fit in any Chicago Irish Neighborhood. I know we will be back, this may be MY PLACE IN ATLANTA!

Feels Like YOUR Local PUB!. We have been to PUB 71 about 4-5 times in the past several weeks, and it is really feeling like "OUR PLACE". The staff is always friendly and nice and the drinks and food are exceptional. We are planning to be the for the New Years Eve Party and will bring in 2008 with a really "cool" crowd. Come join us, the price is right and the atmosphere is GREAT! You really feel like they appreciate the fact that you are there. Thanks to this Cityguide for the "Heads UP"....

Nice Place and a Lot of Fun !. A good friend of mine suggested that we try this place and what a nice surprise! We had a delightful meal and wonderful drinks. The steak that I had was unique and very flavorful. My wife had the Salmon and thoroughly enjoyed that. We even had desserts and Irish Coffee. What a treat! We will be back again soon, I thank my friend for finding this place and "insisting" that we try it. A real GEM! Treat yourself to something just a bit different but very comfortable and very good. Try it, you WILL like it!
