Go to Noir on Saturdays! – I had the pleasure of attending a weekly promotion at Noir this past Saturday and I had a blast. Contrary to the other persons review... I had a great time. The music was fabulous, the drinks were handed to me in a timely manner, and the crowd was nice. However, what topped this event off was...The event was free... You cannot beat it...Good music, free event, and a great group of people.
Don't go on Saturdays – So a friend sent me an invite for an event at Noir Sat. July 14 2007 and I went to see what this new "must see" spot would be like. First and foremost its way too small for them to try and make it a Sat night nightclub, second you had to wait in line to get in, then once you get in you have to fight your way to the bar just to wait like 20-30 minutes for a drink! Thats ridiculous. Come to find out once you get in and make your way to the supposed to be dancefloor no one is in that area but crowded toward the front where the entrance and patio is so you can barely walk in once you are allowed in. I mean they were only letting people in as people came out. I understand trying to make it comfortable but why do so much heavy advertisement knowing you can't do what a real club can do? The crowd was ok, no one really danced on the little dance floor, it is a place where you can run into some celebs(mainly music industry elite that live in Atlanta and you can run into at any time) and the DJ was decent. I would not suggest going on a Sat. because you won't really get to enjoy the place which has a nice decor and vibe but on a Sat. you would be too busy fighting through the crowd to get a drink and a decent place to stand to really say you had a good time!
Great Drink/Beer Selection – I recently visited Noir after stopping by on my way to another bar in the area. I am glad that I stopped. The inside decor was great, and the drinks were phenomenal. I went in expecting to just have a beer, and I walked away with some new favorites that I've never tasted before. The bartenders were very helpful in their drink recommendations and were attentive to me and my friends during our stay.
I would definitely recommend Noir.
Cool throwback atmosphere – Stopped into Noir for a drink when I was in Castleberry Hill on the evening of one of the neighborhood's art strolls. Was very impressed. It had sort of an old Hollywood feel to it, but that could have been due to the classic movies being projected onto the exposed brick wall. I think "Casablanca" was on in the background the night I was there. There was also a nice patio out on Peters St., but I was too taken with the beautiful interior to want to sit outside. Drinks were just a tad on the pricey side, but everything else was very cool. I'd go back.
