Home=yummy!
by wifeyluther
This was my second time visiting Home and the food was just as delicious as it was the first time. My first visit was for work and I went back a second time with my husband. I made a reservation specifically for the wine cellar downstairs which has enough room for only two people. Super romantic! I reserved the cellar and our early dinner time over a month ago and arrived at Home on Friday to be sat upstairs among the public. I was told the table was filled. Annoyed! After the delish fois gras appetizer I excused myself for the restroom to see WHO was sitting at my table in the cellar. IT WAS EMPTY! Officially ticked off. Thankfully our service was great and so was the meal but I was uber annoyed that I was denied the table I requested over a month ago. Good thing I got a picture with Richard Blais to kind of smooth my disappointment over. SO, go for the food (it's awesome) just don't expect to get a special table even if you reserved it. Yes, I'm bitter :)
- Pros: Richard Blais, Turley wine, great food
- Cons: not being sat in the cellar, a little snooty
Good menu, slow service

Home is not like home. I liked the menu though. I started with foie gras which by the way did not come with bread or anything to put it on until we asked which they brought a biscuit which fell apart in your fingers. The crabcake app was excellent though. I then had a strip steak? with creamed corn and that was good but not worth the price tag. Home is okay but nothing to crow about. Service was slow slow slow.
- Pros: Menu
- Cons: Slow disjointed service for food and drinks
Service is ABOVE and BEYOND

I have been to Home twice. The chef is not actually Tom, but Richard Blais-currently on Top Chef. The restaurant is amazing. I have not eaten anything here that was anything less than outstanding. The service is unbelievable-the staff retention is amazing (our bartender, Cat, has worked for Here to Serve for TEN YEARS). I don't understand the review from the end of April-at all. Dumbfounded, actually.
- Pros: Richard Blais, service, food
- Cons: none
