Modern design fans would do well to pay a visit to Context, the 8,000 square foot furniture gallery located downtown in the historic Freeman Ford building. The store pays homage to mid-century design and stocks pieces by designers ranging from Jasper Morrison to Marcel Wanders. Owners Jeffrey Shelley and Pui Panich have assembled a thoughtful collection of furnishings, from low-slung sofas by Cappellini to modern classics like the "Wishbone Chair" by Carl Hansen.

I think anyone who wants the best in contemporary modern furniture and interior design should visit this store. They carry some of the best furniture lines from Europe not available elsewhere. Most of all, what I liked was the fact the very friendly owners wait on you and are designers and artists themselves. Also, I like their philosophy of buying quality that lasts and represents value. I brought in some photos of my house and furniture and they were able to give me suggestions right away. They know their products and designers. Interestingly, they also have a sense of minimalism, a philosophy that often less is more, and saw one of my problems was I had too much furniture. They told me they strive to carry designers who are able to make a piece of furniture represent it's simplest, most elegant form. All in all, I had a very pleasant shopping experience and will definitely return.
