Re: Pick up order.
This is the 2nd of 3rd time ordered food from them to go...It was ok...but tonight was a disaster.
As usual odered Tandoori chicken with other items. You f****ng kidding me...When you order a Tandoori chicken...you are supposed get a whole chicken cut into pieces..that's what I got last time....tonight they gave me 4 pieces of cut thigh & legs...You f***ing kidding me..! I am an Indian and ate in every Indian restaurant in Atlanta. Called and explained the whole thing to the manager...he is a f***ing AH....He said do whatever you want to.... I want my money back....Not ever going to go back there....It was a total rip off on top it rude behavior....
GREAT FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE.
The best Indian food i ever had.
Their naans and curries and chicken tikka masala are great
STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
great food and great service and waiters are very friendly!!
Worth a visit for sure!! :). The name of the restaurant does not seem so promising but food is!! We had ordered-Paneer Tikka Masala with Naan. The food was unbelievably awesome that we couldn't resist visiting the restaurant the very next day for same. Naan was really puffy and soft. Dying to taste non-veg dishes as soon as Navratras end!! The service was warm and friendly and the "Bengali" touch to the name of the dishes in menu amused me. For ex "Mater Paneer" was spelled as "Motor Poneer" :)). The decor is not so pleasing and little tacky but then who cares for the decor if one has great food in the platter!! Is not it? To my surprise...i was told that they don't have "Green Chilly" on the side when i asked for one to have with my food :P. Anyhow i liked the and place and loved the food!!
Great Food But Scoutmob Users Beware!.
Honestly, the restaurant looks a little questionable from the outside but my husband and I decided to give it a try anyway. I'm glad we did because the food was good and the server was nice. However when it came time to use our Scoutmob offer, we were told there was a minimum purchase requirement of $40. I showed the server that the Scoutmob offer made no mention of a minimum purchase (just a maximum discount) but we were still turned down.
It feels a lot like a bait and switch to me. We wouldn't have gone there if it wasn't for Scoutmob and in the end we couldn't even redeem the offer. So if you're going to this place to use the offer be aware that they changed the rules after the fact and are claiming there's a $40 minimum purchase requirement.
New Menu. I wrote a review many years ago when the Rose of India first opened. I LOVED it. We used to go all the time. Then one day I noticed my favorite dish, Chicken Tika Masala, had changed. Don't get me wrong, it was still good but it just wasn't the same. My favorite waiter(I think he was an owner too) wasn't there anymore either. On another return visit, I was actually disappointed in my dish. Well, I am pleased to say that I finally returned this past week to give it another try and was VERY pleased that I did. They are under new management and has a totally new menu I tried the combo dinner and it was an awesome deal. It arrives on a divided silver platter and included: naan, spring roll, chicken tika masala, lamb curry, saag panner, rice, and dessert for $14.50. I ordered mine fairly hot (# 3) and it was super spicy. I loved it but I think I might take it down one notch next time. If you haven't been in a while, I would urge you to go and give it another try. I am really glad I did!!
Best Indian Food in the Area.
My wife and I were so sad when Rose of India was closed for renovations, and we were worried that the economy had caused Atlantans to lose this gem of a restaurant. Lucky for us, it has now reopened, and we couldn't wait to go back for the awesome food.
I will say that my experience with Indian food is limited, but we have never ordered anything that we didn't absolutely love here, and I never had any of the indigestion I've had just about everywhere else.
In response to some of the negative comments I've read, our waiter told us Rose of India is "under new management" and some of the recipes have changed. Some of my favorite dishes were a new recipe, but still delicious!
Make sure to order the butter chicken.
Enjoy!
F***ING RACIST!!!.
Have been to this place quite a few times before and always wondered why we never see Indian folks at a Indian restaurant especially when it serves real good food... But I guess I have found out the answer over the last few visits...
I'm not sure if its the entire management or if its just some people who work there that are RACIST. Over the past few times we have never got the complimentary appetizers that they serve while some WHITE customers right next table are always offered the same. 1st couple of times we ignored it thinking it might be a 1-time error but this has now happened waaaay toooooo many times to be some mistake. Even today when this same thing happened we went to the front desk to talk about it to the manager, who immediately recognized us as regular patrons, but seemed least bit bothered about the issue. Finally, frustrated by the managers attitude we decided to just leave out food and walk out of the place and NEVER return back.
We would DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND this place to any sane human being on this planet earth!!!
Great food, good price and friendly service. I've been going to this place for quite sometime and current owner is doing a much better job than the old owner did. I've seen some people are saying the meat dishes weren't good or the vegi dishes weren't up to the standard, but I think even the finest restaurants can have a bad day or two as far as cooking goes. So far, I've not had any bad experience there and I eat frequently. I've sent some of the co-workers there and they are hooked to their chiken tikka masala dish. The staffs are friendly and easy going and they take it easy and don't give you the rush feelings when you are ordering. Over all great food, good price and friendly service. I know the interior pinkish color is a bit odd, but I'm there to eat not to judge the color or the paintings on the wall. :)
The Best Curry in Atlanta. This place is amazing!! My husband and I love Indian food, being British we have been to many Indian restaurants (its our national cuisine!), so we have very high standards for Indian food. This place is a small hidden Gem in Atlanta, the dishes are always fresh, hot and delicious. They spice up the food at request. The waiting staff are always friendly and helpful. The decor is funny, and the place is very small, but we have been there with groups of around 16-20 and they served all of us quickly with the same great standard of food, and all of our friends love this place too. Highly recommended.
Atlanta's Tastiest Indian Food. Oh. My. God. No, seriously, you need to get in your car and drive to Rose of India right now. The food here is insanely good, and it's CONSISTENTLY good. Every single time I go I'm blown away at how tasty and delicious their food is. Papadums--can't get enough of their crispy, cumin-y excellence. Their naan bread--piping hot and pillowy. Their basmati rice is delicious enough to eat all by itself, but that would be a crime. Because their curry dishes--particularly the RIDICULOUSLY TENDER AND RICH lamb curry--is to die for. And the prices are wonderfully low, so you'll be able to go back often (and you'll want to, believe me.) Get the lamb curry and fall in love.
