Editorial Review for K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen – by Pableaux Johnson

In Short
Decades after introducing the world to Cajun cuisine, Chef Paul Prudhomme still serves the classic Louisiana foods and haute Cajun dishes that made him famous. Simple presentation is the rule. Menu items include blackened tuna and blackened yellowfin--a juicy, well-seared fillet. Eggplant pirogue seafood Atchafalaya is a flavorful fried vegetable shell stuffed with mixed seafood.

After leaving Houston to escape Hurricane Ike, we were excited to treat ourselves to Paul Prudhomme's cuisine. I had a delicious chicken dish which was lightly breaded and fried, served with wonderful jambalaya. The whole meal was very good. My wife, who grew up in La. had the blackened baby drum. Her initial comment to the server was, "We used to throw drum back when we went fishing". He told her that she would enjoy the fish-it was just like red fish. So she decided to try it. She found it way too salty, from the blackening seasoning. She sent it back, asking to just have it broiled with lemon butter and no seasoning. It came back with too much salt again! She didn't eat the fish, but did like the mashed potatoes. She also liked the bread pudding.

Pros: Our server was very patient with our requests

Cons: Food was inconsistent

Native New Orleanian: Best creole cooking in town. Delicious basket of various homemade bread served immediately. Great place to celebrate anything!! If the restaurant is made aware of you celebrating something, a three piece brass band comes to your table to play a couple of songs just for you!!

Pros: EVERYTHING! Great food, friendly service (like you're at a friend's home), etc., etc., etc.

Cons: NOTHING!
