Great for browsing new scrapbook products but not for buying

by archyteckie08

Archivers is marketed as the premiere scrapbooking store. For years its been getting raves from the online scrapping community and finally two stores have have opened in the North Georgia area. Although, I live in Alpharetta where Joanns/Michaels/Hobby Lobby are only minutes away. I just had to go 30 minutes out of my way, to see if the store lived up to its hype.

Lookwise, the Archivers store is beautiful. Nice amber lighting, friendly staff, and a very organized store layout gives Archivers a solid A+ for atmosphere. In matter of substance, the store is stocked with a sizable collection of popular scrapbook brands (such as Basic Grey, Crate Paper,Fancy Pants Designs, Making Memories to name a few), free use of the store's die cuts machine, various classes available, and a little area where anyone can came and scrap away from home. However, pricewise this place is expensive. Single sheets of scrapbooking paper will cost you $0.79 compared to $0.50 at Micheals/Joanns/Hobby Lobby. Nearly everything else is 25%-40% more when compared to other national retail craft stores. Idea books and magazines seemed to be the only items that are priced at their MSRP.

Having said all of the above. Archivers is a nice store to browse on lazy days and take a couple of classes at. Not as awe-inspiring as I thought it would be but not bad either. But before you buy anything there make sure to shop around.

  • Pros: Ambience, Nice variety of products, friendly service
  • Cons: Slightly expensive
