Excellent food and service! – I had been working with a nutritionist and lost 50 pounds from June through September on my own by exercising and cooking for myself. I started losing steam in September though with 30 pounds left, because I was so tired of cooking for myself and having to think constantly about what to eat/what not to eat/when to eat/how much to eat, etc,,, it was exhausting. So I decided to give Good Measure Meals a try in October. It'sa no brainer. You pick the food up twice weekly (on Mondays and Thursdays). I take the meals out of the bag and make little stacks for each day and store them in my fridge in a line. When it's time to eat the appropriate meal, I pull it out and heat it either in the oven or on a plate in the microwave. It is delicious. It also makes you wonder how you can possibly only be eating 1,200 calories per day (the plan that I am on). This morning I had a vegetable tart covered in cheese, a turkey sausage pattie, a piece of toast with butter spread and jam, and halved apricots. I could barely even finish it all. It was incredibly filling. I haven't had a bad meal yet, and I am a picky eater. It's nutritionally sound. A team of nutritionists developed it, and there's no way I would eat this many vegetables and fruit servings on my own because of the time it would take to prepare them. I don't know what the other poster was talking about referring to "too much bread"... there is bread sometimes (carbs are NOT bad for you!) and all of their breads are whole wheat.
It is definitely expensive... and it's too bad they don't give better discounts for repeat customers such as every 8th week free or something like that to help defray the cost. I will cycle it to every other week once I am on maintenance. It's easy to do this: all you have to do is call the Thursday before the week you want to stop it by 4 PM and give the instructions to the customer service staff.
I will update this later at the end of 8 weeks with my more long term findings!
Not Bad for Prepackaged Meals – Good Measure Meals is a meal service for weight loss or healthy eating. You can pick from 3 meals daily or just dinners. Most of the meals are pretty good, but some are tasteless. The chicken always tastes processed but other foods are not so bad. I am amazed that a program that is promoted for weight loss has so much bread and butter. They serve it with almost every meal. Why not substite fruits and vegetables for all this bread.
