Editorial Review for No Mas Cantina – by Christina Saul and Jonathan Baker
In Short
Littered with trinkets, antiques and boasting a festive porch, this two-story warehouse feels more like an upscale Mexican flea market than your typical cantina. And everything (yes everything) is for sale, from margarita pitchers to the homemade woven baskets hanging from the ceiling. Steering clear of overly-standard Tex-mex the food matches the atmosphere, blending stuff you could find off a taco truck with items seem almost fine-dine-y. Grilled shrimp come skewered on sugar cane, interestingly paired with a corn stuffed masa-cake and syrupy-sweet fried plantains. Fish and fresh guac pepper the menu giving more indication that this isn't your standard burrito-n-beans joint.

Insider Tips
Where to SitThe covered patio is spacious and breezy enough to enjoy a margarita or a meal.
What to DrinkA Mexican take on a bloody mary, the michelada is a spicy blend that uses Dos Equis Amber instead of vodka and is a steal for under $5.
Save MoneyFajitas come with all the trappings you could ask for. Get the Fajita Feast for two, and pinch a couple pennies.
ParkingWith limited street parking on Walker and Peters the valet is the most convenient (and safest) option.
Fun FactCan't get enough Hispanic threads? Check out the store next door for even more Mexican antiques and home decor.

I usually don't write on things like this, but sometimes someone does something that deserves to be recognized. I called No Mas! Cantina to get directions. By the time I called I was starting to get really frustrated and upset. A lady (I wish I could remember her name) answered the phone. She began giving me directions, but I was so upset it was hard for focus on what she was saying. She offered to stay on the phone with me until I arrived. Once I felt I could find my way, on Walker St. (lol). I said good bye. As I was looking for Haynes, I saw a friendly face smiling at me and waving, I guess she knew who I was because I was going so slow. I asked if she was the one I had been talking to me on the phone, she said yes, then proceeded to point me to the parking lot and walk me inside. WOW. The crazy thing was she was from the restaurant and I was going to the furnature store.
Pros: Great customer service
Cons: Hard to find

I read the last review and all I can say is WHAT...? I have been to No Mas! Cantina several times and always found the service friendly and caring. The food is delicious and the atmosphere beautiful. Taquaria de sol??? My friends and I call them the taco Natzis, 1st you stand in line to order your food, 2nd you have to pay for the salsa, and 3rd where do you sit to enjoy the tacos once you order? Definately, not a covered patio with a soothing fountain. Well to each their own, all I can say to anyone reading this is give No Mas! Cantina a try and decide for yourself.
Pros: Food and Ambience
