In Short – The Grant Park cantina, a spin-off of the lively 10th Street taqueria, creates a south-of-the-border ambience with splashes of primary colors and rough-hewn planking. The kitchen generally turns out authentic Mexican dishes, such as velvety mole poured atop a tender chicken breast or shrimp tacos served with piquant avocado sauce. Poblano soup is fiery and creamy, while black bean cakes are crisp and addictive. Get your sugar rush with sweet, potent margaritas.

Editor's Tips

What to Drink:
The one-of-a-kind selection of 150 premium tequilas is the backbone of the stellar margarita menu. Try the Zocarita or the Tamarita, a tamarind-flavored margarita.
Save Money:
The lunch menu is affordable. Most dishes are $5 to $6--and guaranteed to be ready in 20 minutes or less.

  1. The Carnitas taco, which was the worst of the 3, had a little bit of meat and was overwhelmed by the soft corn taco.
  2. best tacos, I am addicted, try the pastor, never had anything like that!
  3. best tacos ever!
  4. you want the real mexican treat this place is awsome, no fusion, no nothing men if you apprecciate good fresh stuff, this is it.
  5. Of the 3, the Baja (which is a shrimp taco), was the best of the three.

Best tacos in town

by swixie

After moving here from Chicago, I was very dissapointed that I was unable to find a decent taco al pastor anywhere. This is definitely the best one in town!

I was expecting better

by the_dude7

I visited here for the first time the other day. I got 3 taco's...the Baja, the Arrachera, and the Carnitas. Of the 3, the Baja (which is a shrimp taco), was the best of the three. Overall though, for Mexican food, it was all pretty bland tasting. Not really all that impressed. The Carnitas taco, which was the worst of the 3, had a little bit of meat and was overwhelmed by the soft corn taco. Based on this experience, I might go here again to get something to fill up my stomach, but I wont be expecting much more then that.

  • Pros: fast service
  • Cons: food was bland
