Neophytes may be thrown by the offbeat location, clandestinely tucked behind a Mexican cantina in Poncey-Highlands, but locals in the know praise the unpretentious vibe of this chiefly word-of-mouth bar. I frequent this place quite a bit. The drinks are great, the staff is friendly and the DJ's that spin are the sh@t... I would recommend this place for starting the evening off.

Surely not a spot to plop for the entire evening but definitely a chill "hole in the wall" that beats most holes. Great for a warm up drink before the running of the bars. Also, wonderful for cooling down from the full blown club. Not a great abundance of seats but the drinks come quick and music's quite nice. Not a pretentious place for all you cute folks to be seen, so beware. El bar is worth the try.
Pros: Small, quaint
Cons: Parking's a mess but i dont care
