In Short – The creators of Twist and Shout have designed another electrifying eatery that doubles as a singles playground. The hip space is accented with bold decor on three floors and completed by a rooftop deck and skyline view. Singles mingle around the sushi bar, VIP tables, lounge and a dance floor with a pole right down the middle. The menu features steak and sushi, but the most coveted dish is the sizzling social scene.
Very So, So

Interesting concept, but lacks focus. There were singles looking to hook up, familes there, small dining parties, and large birthday parties. So, I was confused at what concept the place is aiming to achieve.
My two guests and myself arrived on 6/27 Saturday evening. The doormen were great. We were greeted by a somewhat snooty white girl. The wait was not long. We were seated by a young black woman who was great. Our waiter, Chauncy, was very good.
If management is reading this; the doormen, the female african american greeter (one with the huge smile), and our waiter were great. The white young woman that was taking names is not a good greeter.
One guest ordered the steak salad, and it was cooked spot on to her request and she enjoyed it. The other guest took the club snadwhich which was OK. Ok, one cannot do much with a club sandwhich, but the quality was the same as could be found at Denny's. I took the lobster burger, but afterward I do not recommend it to ohers. Our nancho starter was good.
The sushi bar seems worth checking out. The roof bar would be a good place to relax for a bit. The second floor in concept is a blend of lounge and sushi bar, so its hard to figure what the concept is. The first floor is a blend of things.
The crowd that night was some really cool african americans, but some mostly uptight white singles and couples. Some families thrown in.
I left with a blah feeling. I will not be back soon as there are too many other places to go to. If you are there already, it is not a bad place to go. If you live in Cobb or Gwinnett, it is not worth the drive just to visit this establishment.
- Pros: Interesting Concept
- Cons: Not worth the trip

Wonderful Experience

I was in town visiting for the Bronner Brothers Hair show the weekend of 2/21/09---we had asked some friends who live in Atlanta of a good spot for dinner and drinks. I am sooooooo glad they recommended Strips. I wish I could remember our watiers name. He was the absolute BEST---we tipped him well. We ordered a pitcher of the Sangria---simply amazing. I hate going to a restaraunt and the waiter has no ideabout the menu....our waiter was so knowledgable and able to offer wonderful suggestions to each of us! We did sushi----one word PERFECT. We all sampled what everyone ordered... so here goes, the Zuwaikani...loved it, the Crunchee rolls...amazing! Im not an oyster person but a guest in our party ordered them and she was so impressed. We ended our dinner by sharing the bread pudding---let me say I am not a bread pudding fan---but OMG....it was wonderful! Next time in Atlanta I will be making a return trip to Strips. I highly recommend this restaraunt, wonderful food fairly priced.
- Pros: Service, Food, Ambience
