Editorial Review for The Warren City Club – by Jonathan Baker
In Short
Up three flights of stairs and above the over-crowded Dark Horse Tavern is a simple brown door leading to the Warren. The modestly-hip enclave glows upon entrance with its fireplaces and amber light, under which the simple bar makes for good mingling. While the late-night, dance-tastic crowds and patio views get all the attention at this private club, the Warren's secret weapon is the food. A creative menu including captain crunch crusted salmon and possibly the best unheard of burger in Atlanta give you more reason to try and sneak in past the security guard.
Hits: This reclusive spot gets you out of the Highlands crowd and into a smaller, still-happening scene.
Misses: You have to be a member, or be with a member to get in most nights.

Recently we had the pleasure to go to The Warren Club, above our old fave Dark Horse Tavern. It's private, and admittance with a member is required. We climbed those stairs above the Dark Horse, and entered into a refuge away from the masses. This is at the top of the Highlands, and a great outdoor patio, overlooking the street scene. What a great change of pace. Within a few minutes, everyone knows your name, and they make you feel welcome. The owner, Kristy Warren, came up and gave us a wonderful introduction. The drinks were liberal, the buffet was terrific, and we just had a great time. If you want to bypass those long club lines, putting up with out of hand drunks, and want a nice experience, this is it. And joining The Warren, is on our list, we owe it to ourselves.
Pros: Privacy, Great Music, Drinks & Food! Friendly Members!
Cons: Need To Get In Better Shape For Those Stairs! LOL!

* Be yourself: Write like you’d talk to a friend. Are you a burrito expert? Was this your first massage? Say so. * Think local: Mention the neighborhood and nearby attractions. * Play fair: Don’t hold burger joints to the same standards as four-star restaurants. * Be specific: “Perfectly crisp crust” is more helpful than “tasty pizza.” * Give details: Specialty menu items? Unique spa treatments? Get the word out!
