Having so much Fun!!
by deb33445
When I joined E&A it was one of the best things I did for myself besides early retirement. I have met many friends and acquaintances. Every one I have met have been friendly and warm. Since the first event, I have laughed and had fun with members and co-host.
As far as the events, I have had so much fun at each and every event. Most events I do not know what to expect. It always turns out exciting and wonderful. I am experiencing new adventures or ones I have not done for years.I can not express how much fun I am having. It is one of the best thing I have done.
Having a Blast!!

Love the concept, love the events, and love the people i have met! It is so nice to always have something to do, and new people to meet instead of sitting at home by myself all the time! Thanks E&A!
Im convinced

Okay, so I can definitly agree where some of you are coming from. When I first joined I was not very excited when I went to my first event. There werent too many people at that event, and I really was nervous and didnt get the best first impression. It was during the week, so I was trying to stay positive. I wanted to cancel at first because I was sure I made a mistake. I called the office to complain, and they convinced me to give it another shot. I was not too sure, but I went ahead and signed up for a few more events. I went to a winetasting on a Friday night. When I arrived I was ready to be unhappy, but as soon as I arrived the host was there to welcome me. She was so nice and friendly. She took the time to run me around the room and introduce me to everyone, and by the end of the night I had met 35 new, single people. I really had a great time mingling and trying the fabulous wines and tapas. Since that event I have been to a few more events...Some events are definitly better than others, but all and all I am having a good time and meeting a lot of new people. I can see where people can be discouraged and first, but I think if you keep trying you will find that this really is a fun thing. I definitly was not happy at first.
Are you desperate and gullible? Me too! Let's get together!!

That SHOULD be the catchphrase of the club...it'd be more honest! Both of these reviews are absolutely right. I signed up hoping to get out of the house more. They told me that I was right in their "core age group" and gave me the hard sell. They go through the motions of "accepting" you into the club so that by the time they tell you the price (astronomical!), you're begging to be part of the exclusivity. I can't believe I fell for it, but there you go... Anyway, when I got to the events, everybody was at least 15-30 years older than me! People sat around making awkward conversation--I realized that the only reason people joined this club only because they were so socially awkward they couldn't function normally. After a month of excrutiating events, I looked at my bank account and saw that I'd overdrafted several times because of the fees! When I told them that I wasn't interested in being a member anymore for financial reasons, they said "Too bad! You signed a year's contract! Good luck with the finances and enjoy the rest of the year!" The customer service is terrible, they're only out to get your money, and the events really aren't that great. This club is only worth it if you're older, divorced, needy, and can afford it! Buyer beware!
- Pros: Good if you're older and can afford it
- Cons: Bad for everyone else!!!
Don't know if they believe their pitch......
by preciousp
While I agree with allie_mae's assessment overall, I will add the hardsell actually unsold me. I went expecting to sign up but the pitch was reminiscent of my days selling timeshares (and a used car salesman I didn't buy from). If you have a good product you shouldn't need to go to your manager to see if I'm accepted (a process that only took a few minutes). My biggest issue was the false sense of security engendered by "we check out and verify our members". When? Not in the few minutes it took to talk to the manager. I would prefer to know background checks were done (at the very least) - or run driver's license for DUIs, something for my membership fee beyond going in the next office and "chatting", which is what it appeared. The 1 year minimum membership was strange, I feel if your product is that great you would offer a sampling, whether with just a few members who know it is a sampling or at an actual event. I'm kind of stuck on that, if it's that good, and you're new in the market, that is the best marketing tool, and would actually do more to ensure quality of members. That's my take on it at any rate. Oh, and read and understand the back of the contract, all the paragraphs.
- Pros: The concept is fabulous, if it's half as good as they say, it's a winner.
- Cons: Need to provide better insight: pricing of non-covered events, examples of people who have enjoyed their service - maybe invest in a brochure with testimonials.
