Tips for Glenn Hotel

April 14, 2013

If you have ever wanted to feel like you're a true VIP (and not the sleezy club-type), The Glenn is the place to go. Their lounge and dining area are they the type of place that you might run into a celebrity or two at. The dimly-lit mood lighting sets the tone for a mellowed-out, relaxed vibe that makes it hard not to spend a few hours just drinking and eating with a group of friends. And you definitely have to make your way up to the rooftop to relax and enjoy some drinks and an okay D.J. The view and the mood are the best things about the rooftop lounge. The place was relatively empty and the waitresses were terrible, but as long as you don't mind having to get up and get your own drinks then its fine. Its location is great and within walking distance of the Georgia Aquariam and the World of Coca-Cola. And if you're really ambitious you could even walk to the Hard Rock Cafe. The comfort of their rooms as well as its location is one that is hard to match and makes the Glenn Hotel the place to stay while in Atlanta.

BED should not be associated... under new management!. I was blown away by how positive my experience was at this boutique hotel in downtown Atlanta. From the time I walked in the door to returning my room key two days later, I was given the true, old fashioned customer service experience that one rarely receives these days. I have traveled frequently over the past 4 years on business and have never had such a positive experience at a hotel. The rooms were great. I was on the 9th floor with two large windows and a spectacular view of the city. The decor was awesome, especially the custom bathroom with standing shower (I hate bathtubs!). The desk space was well designed so I could focus on my work and had plenty of space. The beds were SUPER comfortable. The pillows were the best, and the bedding felt just like home - if not better. I also really liked the waffle spa robes they offer in each room. Because I was so busy with work, I didn't have time to get out for dinner, so I ordered room service both nights. The meals were affordable - a surprise any time when it comes to room service - and they were well prepared and very tasty. I highly recommend the Chicken Ciabatta sandwich with sweet potato fries! :)

Aside from the hotel itself, I had a great expeience from the staff. Upon arrival, I was given a personal hostess who was there at any time to provide conceirge service. When she was out, they provided another staff member who knew me by face and name and was able to assist me. The employees were friendly and conversational, and went out of their way to ensure I was enjoying every moment of my stay. My best experiences were with Nizbit, Vaughn, and Ryan - three of the employees who work at reception, and Stephanie - the senior mixologist who was working downstairs as the bartender.

Very Dissapointing. The room was adequate. Staff was adequate. I got in at 9 PM and ordered a turkey club from room service. It was served on a hamburger roll. Need I say more? There were extra charges on my credit card for food items eaten from the room, which I did not eat. Would not recommend.

great hotel, great location, great service. Recently hosted a bachelor party in the Jezebel Suite. Beautiful suite overlooking the Atlanta skyline. Great support from the hotel staff. Hotel location is ideal...within walking distance of several downtown resturants and attractions. Thanks Glenn Hotel for making a special night, special.

Downtown boutique hotel is decked in Georgia marble, pine floors and traditional Southern furnishings.. In Short
Perks at this swanky 93-room downtown hotel include a 24-hour concierge, suites with mounted plasmas and designer H20 bath fixtures. Beds are big and fluffy and the rooms ooze with a sex-charged charm. The Glenn's urban chic style--usually reserved for the trio of W's--is a slick, welcome addition to downtown that deserves a proper boutique package among the corporate chain hotels. The hotel caters to business travelers with benefits such as Herman Miller Aeron chairs, large work desks and daily newspapers as well as two private boardrooms for meetings and special events. Housing a lobby bar and eatery, the summertime sees a hot crowd on the Glenn's rooftop bar, formally run by B.E.D. and later Maxim Prime.

Fantastic !!!!. We just spent a fabulous weekend at this new fabulous boutique hotel! I was so impressed with the friendly and helpful staff, the beautiful rooms, and the personal touches this hotel has to offer. The location is prime, and within walking distance to all the great hot spots of downtown. They offer all kinds of great package deals, and discounts (we used the code: Alisa). Maxim Prime was a fantastic dining experience as well! You just can't beat this hotel for a great deal, and a great stay!

Very nice hotel, hip atmosphere. If you are looking for a trendy or modern hotel with a great location in downtown Atlanta check The Glenn hotel out. Be prepared for the crowd that the club like restaurant that Bed attracts. If you are looking for a hotel that you don?t have to leave to party this is the spot for you. The rooms are well appointed and quiet once you are in your room. If you do happen to eat at the restaurant or drink at the bar be prepared it is a little pricey but you will not be disappointed with the atmosphere.

Why rate it so high?. Why does City Search rate this place so high when all of the reviews are negative? I think the editors should research their own sites BEFORE the ratings are set!

It's Not Chicago! We Like It Here! Great For Drinks! Cool Building!. B.E.D. is a great place to go for drinks, before or after a meal at one of Atlanta's finest. Any dufus knows this is not a place for fine dining, but maybe the dufus from Chicago prefers The Varsity(Best Original Fast Food In The Country-Yes, It's grease heaven, and wonderful). Some peoples tastes are only in their mouths. Atlanta is a young and growing city, and not a NYC wannabe, like Chicago. B.E.D. has done a great job in rehabing an older building, opening the way for more things to come into this area of the city. Chicago has many fine restaurant's including my favorite Charlie Trotter's, but Atlanta has more Five Star destinations than Chicago. Maybe a subscription to Bon Apetite, might help this unhappy soul, who misses his mama!
