Little Five Points bar serving small plates to savvy diners..
In Short
In the space that formerly housed Tijuana Garage comes a lively tapas eatery with an assorted menu, welcoming ambiance and a large outdoor patio. Locals come here for international bites that include fennel-marinated, seasoned olives, mussels and crab cakes. Unusual combinations like mission figs with herb-doused feta are palate-pleasers.
Seriously?. My boyfriend and I decided to try Sabroso because of all of the great reviews it got on here. After dining, we decided that all of the reviews must have been written by the restaurant's employees because no one could possibly enjoy this place. First of all, there were no tapas - only appetizers. The food we ordered was bland and unoriginal. The black beans tasted like they had been poured out of a can directly into a bowl and served to us. Even the margaritas were bland, and it's hard to make a margarita that I don't like. The restaurant was empty when we were there, but we still couldn't carry on a conversation because the entire wait staff gathered around the bar 10 feet from our table and proceeded to laugh and goof off. I couldn't understand how our service was so awful - the place was empty and our waitress stood at the bar and socialized all night. We will never go back and I will certainly do more research after reading good reviews about a place on Citysearch.
Worst service ever experienced!. First, the esrvice here was THE WORST i have EVER experienced. The waitress was so rude and NEVER came around. There were about 7 tables outside and NO ONE seated inside, yet our waitress, who was only servicing 2 or 3 tables, visited us about every hour. I had the flank steak and I was not given a steak knife. After waitiing 15 minutes for the waitress to come around, I had to go inside and get the waitress who was goofing off inside the resturant (where there were no customers) and ask her for a steak knife. During the 20 minutes it took her to get a knife, my food got cold. Then she has the nerve to tell me "youre welcome" in the rudest tone possible. Needless to say our water cups got refilled once during the whole time we were there. Food was not very good but not bad either.
GREAT PLACE!. This place is amazing! My boyfriend really wanted to come here and I reluctantly agreed to come with him ( I am not a huge fan of Spanish food). The tapas were phenomenal and the mojitos even better (they are deceptively strong... IN A GOOD way!). This place is a must for everyone! Dont let the little five points location deter you!!
I can't believe these reviews. I tried Sabroso for the 2nd time last night, and it was close to terrible. First of all, it was obviously disorganized. We were (not) promptly seated at a dirty table. Ten minutes later someone cleaned it and gave us one drink menu to share among 5 of us because they were running low. You'd think that, like with other tapas places, the extensive drink menu would offer good drinks. Not so. I had the pomegranite martini, and my friends had the texas margarita and the red sangria - all were worse than average. Same held true with the food. The brisket tacos were way too salty, the beans and rice tased like they came from a can. The special, flank steak, was merely average. I live in the area and know that L5P isn't renowned for its dining experiences, but I will not be back. It's a shame because the restaurant has so much potential. Great location, cool atmosphere.
Very cool patio. The restaurant was really cool with a great patio. The only problem was we went kind of late on a Friday night and they were out of almost everything we wanted to order. The food we did manage to get was very good.
wonderful and service. I drive past Sabrosa all the time and thought that it was just another tex mex joint like Tijuana Garage in the space before it. But, we gave it a try because it's close to our house. We were pleasantly suprised by a wonderful atmosphere, tasty mediterranean small plates, and attentive service. The crab cakes, ahi tuna and especially the flank steak marinated in Turkish coffee and balsamic vinegar were all wonderful. I ordered a sangria, which came out a little bit late, so our server comped it for us. Very nice!
Favorite Restaurant Around. This restaurant is just fantastic. We felt like judges on the FoodNetwork. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted like a flavor bomb in your mouth. Each dish was better than the next. Their drinks are just as fantastic. The margaritas are highly recommended. Their waiters are very attentive and very helpful with deciding on the extensive menu. Fantastic time was had by all.
Best Inexpensive Restaurant in Atlanta. This is by far my fave restaurant in Atlanta that is reasonable in price. I eat out a lot and I am never more satisfied for my dollar than I have been here. My recommendations are the pork, the hummus, the carribean chicken, the mussels and the meze platter. The albondigas and flank steak are also amazing. They also have recently added some pretty decent drink specials.
