Tucker >L'Thai Organic Cuisine & Wine Bar
“do admit, L'Thai is quite tasty, and with the location being tucked away in the outskirts of town, you do not expect it to be so packed.”
“My favorite is the homade coconut ice cream.”
“The ladybug organic wine was great!”
“My Crab Rolls was superb, my Tom Kah soup was excellent, and my Roasted Duck Curry was incredible.”
“went on a monday so the place was a little bit slow (as is with most restaurants) and there wasn't many people working, however the service was still really good and the employees took the time out to even go over their menu and explain to us about auth”
“Now I've had some good Thai in Atlanta, but this place is unique in not only the fresh organic ingredients but in the /kinds/ of ingredients they offer.”
“If only other restaurants could learn that good food can be healthy as well as how much effect outstanding service has on the customer.”
“definitely highly recommend the restaurant for its authentic cuisine, its high quality, great service, good prices and a romantic ambiance.”
“tuesday. Even though the food was great, but the service was slow.”
Excellent Thai. After having been hearing so much about this place, I finally had to give it a try since my friend, Meg and I were in the area. She couldn't beleive this was my first time to L'thai since she knew I'm addicted to Thai food and eat Thai at least twice a week. This place was so very cozy with low lightings, soothing music and sound of the waterfall, and the food was truely superb. The coconut soup I had was the best I've ever had, the Panang curry was also out of this world, I got to taste Meg's Pad Thai (they called it old fashioned way) and it was awesome, and best of all, we shared a dessert called FBI, fried banana with mango ice cream. This alone would have me drive from midtown every week. I have eaten at just about every street corners that have Thai Restaurants. This is by far one of the best in Atlanta. PS I also ordered the Pad Thai to go for my husband, Gary. He took one bite and said "Holy food, let's go there tomorrow!". We give this one a 5 stars!
Thank you Joy, for such kind words and came back in to introduce yourselves after writing this review. With all the challeges that we're facing, kind customers like you and Gary truely give us the spiritual booth and the courage to go on, one step at a time.
Great food, filthy environment!. It's been a couple months since I took another visit to L'thai. The food was delicious as can be, but I did not enjoy sitting at the booth last time, nor did I like to sit at the table this time. The booth is very uncomfortable, and I learned my lesson the last time to dine in it. So, I went for the table this time, but while enjoying my food, a drop of water fell on my head. I thought it was just me, but it happened constantly and I soon found out that they have leaking ceiling! Not only that, but the place where we ate was so dark, it seems like they were out of electricity? Also, later we order togo and they pack our food in an aluminum container? How can you call it togo if I have to use my own bowl later to microwave it? The food is not even secure, my curry spilt everywhere and it seems like the box was smaller than before! I will never order togo at l'thai again. Maybe not to dine either. It was a bad experience, even tho the food and service are good but it's not worth the trouble with the bad environment.
Sorry for your unpleasant experience with our dim lighting, firm booth and waterdrops from AC condensation. But to say that it's filthy may be a unfair choice of word. Regarding our to go aluminium containers which 4-5 times more expensive than foam boxes, it's our intention to use only recycling products that detered the use of microwave ovens, especially with our food. We work very hard to prepare our food in such a way that preserved all enzymes and nutrients of organic ingredients. Nuking it kills it inside out. It has been proven that using plain water and water that had been microwaved to water two separate plants in the same controled enviroment, the one with microwaved water didn't do as well and grew only 60% of the other in 3 months, and eventually died!!!
Fabulous experience!. My friends and I decided to try out this relatively new restaurant in the West Village in Smyrna for a little change of pace, and we were pleasantly surprised! The spring rolls were fabulous and our entrees were top notch as well. The staff was super courteous and helpful. Highly recommended!
Great Eggrolls. This place has fantastic eggrolls. It's also got a tree INSIDE! Go see it.
Unpleasant, Dusty, Not Totally Organic as Advertised. Bad service. Seems like only 10% of the food on the menu is "organic" (if that)? Seems like they use a lot of non-natural flavorings in the food- hard to tell but at the very least a lot of salt is used. Some food is not prepared on premises like the so called fresh "seaweed salad". Dusty fake plastic plants make most of the decor. Hideous large plastic tree in the center of the restaurant; a faux "tree of life" so to speak. Old uncomfortable and cheap furniture and chairs. Bathroom not very clean, I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. Overpriced. Significantly. If you want true organic, clean, healthy food you should go to somewhere you can trust like Whole Foods Market or Five Seasons in Alpharetta is very good and doesn't try to pretend to be something it clearly is not. Go eat at L'Thai, if you are brave or like being fooled.
"Seems like" you have other intention beside being a contribution. I wonder, based on your outspoken nature in this review, when you have a "bad service", would you say nothing to no one, then come home and write a bad review? I also wonder how often do you eat at L'Thai to know that only 10% is organic? Do you know the difference? Our regular customers especially ones with health conditions and special diets know. We're home to many who have hard time eating elsewhere. If you're in doubt, come in to our kitchen. With few exceptions, we use USDA Certified Organic products to assure our integrity and to protect our liability. "Seems like" you've NEVER been to our restaurant because we've NEVER served "seaweed salad". Most of our plants are real except those behide the waterfall and the big tree, and they're dust free. Our bathrooms are always cleaned and our food are pure and consistent because our regulars are keeping us afloat in this economy. Be loving, be well and be peace.
Awesome new location in West Village. Last night a group of us tried L' Thai for the first time but, we went to the new location in West Village. I highly reccommend you pay this place a visit! The food was fantastic! I had the drunken noodles with steak & spring rolls and, it was sooooo good. The service was good! Like Thai food and you live in Smyrna? Do yourself a favor and swing by!
Wonderful Valentine's Dinner. After hearing so much about L'Thai, my husband and I went there for the 1st time last night for our Valentine's dinner. We got there early around 5:30 pm to beat the crowd and almost didn't get seated because we didn't have a reservation. They were booked for special 5-course menu at $39.95 per person, which after seeing what they had to offer, it was reasonable. For appetizers, I had Vegan Rolls which was superb, and my husband had Blanketed Shrimp which he said was very good. Then we both had coconut soup which was also very good. For salad, both Green Papaya salad with bay shrimp and Grapefruit & Berries salad were light and excellent. And for entrees, the Sea Bass with 3-flavor sauce was the best fish dish we've ever had, and the Angus Filet Mignon with curry sauce were absolutely out of this world. By the time we get to dessert we were so full, but whatever they bought us (called TLC) was very good and got finished. The service staff was also very courtious and professional eventhough they were jam packed with a line at the door by the time we left. We had such a wonderful time last night. We will be back often and wil recommend L'Thai to everyone.
Thank you for visiting us for the first time on such a special day. It's one of the most important days for us and we're happy that we can make an impression on you. And thank you for the wonderful review.
Best Thai Food Ever. The food at this restaurant is GREAT!. The restaurant decor is authentic. The staff is friendly. The prices are reasonable. Whenever I get a craving for Thai food, I'm going to come back here. I'll make sure I pass the good news on to my family and friends. This place deserves business.
Thank you for writing such a great review. We wish you happy, happy, happy New Year 2009. Eat healthy and be happy despite any circumstances.
Exceptional experience. I've never considered critique a restaurant, but this one is exception. I live in San Francisco and have come to Atlanta for business meetings this week. After knowing that Friday night dinner is Thai food at L'Thai, and since I love Thai food and have visited Thailand several times, I couldn't help but to check out this place here at Citysearch. I was rather both excited and skeptical with all the great reviews, recognitions and awards this place received. We went last night, and the experience was exceptional. My Crab Rolls was superb, my Tom Kah soup was excellent, and my Roasted Duck Curry was incredible. Everyone else also seemed to thoroughly enjoy their meals. Besides their great ambiance, their fine food and service, they also have exceptional beer and wine selections I've ever seen in an Asian restaurant. In conclusion, this is the best Thai dinner experience, both in US and abroad. I wish their continue successes and hoping they consider opening one in SF.
Thank you for enjoying our place and taking back to SF our concept of healthy organic thai food. Many of Thai's ingredients used for cooking are Mother's Earth medicine if not being mutated by pesticides and fertilizers. Enviromental friendly food generates enviromental friendly energy to produce freindly enviroment
Great beer & wine list and exquisite food indeed. Never thought of driving to Tucker for Thai food since there're several decent Thai restaurants nearby in Vining and Midtown already, but was invited to a friend's BD party this pass weekend. This place was in an old strip mall near Home Depot on the corner of Jimmy Carter and L'ville Hwy. Not a very good first impression regarding location, but when I went inside, it was totally unexpected. The ambience was relaxing with the sound of water fall and soft music. The menus and the beer and wine list were quite extensive and at very decent price. But best of all, the food was excellent. There were 8 of us altogether. My wife and I, and another couple eat meats, but my friend, her husband and the other couple were vegetarians. So after a few sips of gewurztraminer, we ordered some different vegetarian appetizers to share. All were exceptional. For salad, we all shared organic mixed green salad with oil-less peanut dressing. Quite nice and lighjt. For entree, I had the sea bass with ginger sauce which was probably the best I ever had. My wife loved her fried lobster tail with curry sauce. She said it was better than at Pano's & Paul's. I tasted it and it was superbindeed. Other couples seemed to also enjoy their meals as well. After the meal, the waiters brought my friend a complimentary dessert with candle and sang her a happy BD. It was custard made with tarot root. She let me taste it and it was also very good. For my wife and me, we shared a dessert called FBI, which was fried banana with cream cheese and mango ice cream. It was totally exquisite. Others also loved their desserts, especially one had flaming coconut ice cream. The whole evening was quite an experience with great food, great wine, and great companies. As we parted, I asked my friend how she found this place since she lived in Roswell. She said she was invited to a BD party as well, and had been coming back since. Well, my BD is coming up in three weeks, so I guess I'll be back sooner than I thought.
Can't wait to serve you and sing you "Happy Birthday". Thank you for the great review.
