What People Are Saying About Pho Dai Loi

In Short – Walking into the second location of Pho Dai Loi (the original being in Forrest Park) feels a little like walking into some kind of bus terminal from the 80’s. Bright florescent lights, turquoise walls and plastic cups don’t exactly make for a cozy atmosphere. But as we’ve discovered with most places along Buford Highway, the atmosphere is not why you came. Servers scurry about slinging side sauces and lemonades enhanced with soda water, your meal is as quick as it is cheap. Their pho is widely regarded as Atlanta’s finest, but their beef stew is their secret weapon. Served…

Editor's Tips

What to Drink:
For refreshing, fizzy goodness, try the lemonade (unsalted) with soda water. Plus any coffee served over ice will undoubtedly be the best iced coffee you’ve ever tried.
Save Money:
There is absolutely no need to order a large bowl of pho. Don’t let the price points fool you, even though they are super cheap ($6 for a medium bowl), leftovers are inevitable.

The real deal

Check this place out if you're in search of authentic Phở that doesn't censor the varietal bits of goodness that belong in the bowl.

This isn't Asian-for-Americana food. It's Vietnamese food for expats.

Cheap and Cheerful

by hungrywombat at Citysearch

Really good, fresh and incredibly cheap pho. I also ordered a glass of coconut juice, which, if you like coconut, is nirvana.

The turquoise walls, complimented by flourescent lighting and an elaborate cut-glass chandelier all add to the effect of being in some far away land across the pacific.

Dig it.

  • Pros: Great food, cheap, fast, consistent quality
  • Cons: location - middle of no-where
