worst service ever. period. – my boyfriend and i recently moved to the cotton mill so we decided to walk around and see what was in the area. we stumbled across this cute little bar and decided to stop in for a drink. when we walked in we sat in a booth in the back and the waitress walked by our table about 3 times and never even acknowledged that we were sitting there. so we walked to the bar to order our beer and the bartender was totally rude. he wouldnt even let us keep our tab open. after handing us our beer he insisted that we close our tab. so we closed our tab. tipped 50% and left. we will never go back. i was really hoping for a good experience since it is so close to us.
The Little Pub with a Big Heart. – At first glance, Milltown Arms is nothing new or revolutionary. But step inside, talk with the bartenders, staff, clientele & owners, and discover the heart and character of Cabbagetown.
Cabbagetown is an eclectic little neighborhood. Forged by it's industrial past and blue collar mentality. A non-conformist collection of art-minded folks, bound together by a free-spirited love of life and expression.
And Milltown Arms is the perfect reflection of Cabbagetown. It sits modestly in the shadows of "The Stacks" and Fulton Cotton Mill. The sidewalk tables and umbrellas welcome you in, just as the neighborhood would.
Service is lightning quick (except when it gets hyper-busy on weekends...even then, better than most other spots around town). Staff is beyond friendly and you'll quickly be on first name basis.
Want great conversation? Chat with Clay on weekend nights.
Want the perfect Bloody Mary? Sundays with HJ.
Want one of Cabbagetown's prettiest smiles? Stop in and see Lacy any weekday except Tuesday.
Want a relaxed vibe? Hit Milltown on Tuesdays and kick back with Chris.
Want a hearty Maker's Mark and Coke? Kevin and Amanda will hook you up during the week.
Beer selection offers most every major label you could want...and a few you never heard of. Wine selection is decent. The liquor selection is about what you'd expect. Prices are slightly below average, and Milltown offers $2 PBR tall boys on Tuesdays.
The menu has been steadily improving for more than a year. Highly rated offerings include their Homemade Chili, Deep Fried Mussels, "Cuban by Maria", and Salmon BLT.
They host a differ Cabbagetown artist every month or so. Stop in and see the Cabbagetown vibe as depicted by it's artists. It's a great place to grab killer art at insanely low prices.
Excellent spot to watch sports. The Braves game is always on. And they have the NFL Gameday Ticket. The staff will usually put whatever game you want on one of the 4 big HDTVs.
They are also open for some of the bigger English Premier League matches. So if you ever wanted to hit the pub at 7:30a for a pint and Bangers & Mash, now's your chance. In the past two years, "The Brewhouse" seems to have suffered under the weight of their soccer success. Service has slowed and food quality is sinking. Milltown is quickly gaining on them. Don't be surprised if soon, Milltown is the place to be to watch EPL in Atlanta.
Environmentally conscious. Milltown offers a cardboard recycling spot for the neighborhood and they are working towards making all their take-out containers more environmentally friendly.
There is a small parking lot and you can usually find a spot. Parking on Carroll St. can be brutal.
They have darts and two HUGE Golden Tee games with the biggest screens in Atlanta. Jukebox is top+notch! Trivia on Tuesday nights at 8p.
They always seem to have something going on...check their Facebook page for updates.
Would be great if they hosted more local bands. "Whiskey Gentry", "Slim Chance and the Convicts", "The Rolling Nowhere Band" and "Sommer Melody and Tendaberry" have all done sweet gigs there.
Milltown is the melting pot epicenter of Cabbagetown. Stop in and absorb Cabbagetown. But be warned, Cabbagetown might just absorb you too (and you'll like it).
Bask in the warm glow of Milltown Arms in Cabbagetown.
Best bloody mary's in town. – Food is eh and selection is limited. Drinks are great and the regular bartender makes by far the BEST bloody mary's I've ever had. Atmosphere is good, but its not a very good place to meet people.
Relaxed Atmosphere, Excellent Service, Great Bar Food – The Milltown Arms is an easy-going, Irish-style pub. While it's not quite as "hip" as Estoria or the Carroll Street Cafe, it more than makes up for it in service and food. The staff couldn't be friendlier or more attentive. The sandwiches are delicious, and they make the best tots in town.
Editorial Review – Irish watering hole in historic Cabbagetown offers relaxing environment for pints with your peers.
