The Scene
Nestled away in a Peachtree shopping plaza, Taurus is a sexy, eye-catching eatery with swooping curtains and a smoldering red interior. The dining room's centerpiece is a raised area with plush booths; additional seating can be found on the glorious wraparound patio. Servers, bedecked with shirts bearing the bull icon, are gracious and go the extra mile.
The Food
Chef Gary Mennie, whose zodiac sign happens to be Taurus, bills the restaurant as a New American chophouse. Meats and seafood are featured prominently on the menu, along with a roast of the day. Hearty starters such as the silky corn chowder and tangy Peekytoe crab fritter whet the diner's appetite. The crowning jewel of the menu is the perfectly seasoned filet mignon, pan-roasted with hints of garlic and pepper, served on a bed of creamy cauliflower. Cap off a satisfying meal with warm chocolate bread pudding for dessert.

I loved this restaurant, but it closed right after New Year's Eve 2008. I miss it! We always received great service and great food, and we enjoyed half-price-bottle-of-wine Mondays, and that we could bring our own wine also. I'm very disappointed that it closed.

I have been to Taurus several times recently and I am always greeted with warm enthusiasm. The restaurant is gorgeous and has an almost "HOTT" feel to it. The outside patio is the perfect place for cocktails and mingling, with a great view of Atlanta's skyline. The food is to die for. The steak-oscar is my favorite so far. When it came out overcooked, I was upset, thinking that if I sent it back it would be forever before I got my correct order. However, our server would not take no for an answer and promised to have a new one within 3 minutes. She lived up to it and it was perfect. the waiters are never snotty about special requests and substitutions as are a lot of waiters. A great wine selection if you want to spend less or more. GREAT PRICES!

Modern setting with lots of red. Intimate lighting and plenty of seating conducive for a quite date or a large group outing. You can sit on a balcony overlooking the city skyline. Food is very good with an anything-but-boring menu selection, veggie platter and NY Strip Steak are excellent! Desserts are wonderful and cheap.
