Owner, Instructors are Great. This studio is a no nonsense place that is great for people who want to get a great workout. I see this may have come across to some of the reviewers as unwelcoming but my experiences at Body Vision Studio have been nothing short of great. It is not a place to be coddled or pampered. It's fun and inspiring while teaching you a lot about the technical aspects of yoga, pilates, and meditation. The instructors are focused on the people in front of them and do their best to accomadate the needs of all their clients.
management issue. I really wanted to love Body Vision. I went once a week for nine months and had two yoga instructors who were wonderful. I liked the space. But the owner is cold and unwelcoming. The last straw for me was when I heard her explaining to a fellow classmate of mine why she had fired our instructor. She did so in a manner that was extremely unprofessional and offputting. I am looking for a peaceful, welcoming vibe along with a healthy experience. Body Vision just does not deliver.
My back pain vanished....worth the money!. I am truly stunned by the negative comments as my experience has been so different!! Are we talking about the same place?? I have to admit I was pretty skeptical that Pilates would do much for me, but when my doctor recommended steroid shots for my herniated disk, I had to make the decision to help myself. At the advice of a friend, I signed up for a package of machine pilates at Body Vision. After 10 sessions, I felt virtually pain-free and I lived with back pain every minute of everyday. And, people told me I looked as if I lost 10 lbs. which was a total bonus!! All the instructors are very knowledgeable--from the yoga to the pilates to the kettlebell instructors. If you really want to see a change in your body (even at middle age), this is the regimen to try. I will be doing this for a long time, esp. if it keeps me out of the doctor's office.
Avoid at all costs!. I would give this place zero stars if I could. For a place dedicated to pilates and yoga where concentration is key, why would you locate next to both MARTA and regular train tracks? You can expect to have trains passing by every 10 minutes, and they are very loud within the studio; so loud you have to stop talking. The owner seems to have a chip on her shoulder and could stand to take some courses on customer service. Be aware if you purchase private lessons, they will place a limit on the time to use them but fail to mention that to you when you purchase. During one of my lessons, I injured my back again because the instructor (the owner) did not listen to me when I told her there were several exercises I was not supposed to do under the order of my back surgeon. This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Waste of My Time. Don't waste your time at Body Vision. I went to what they said was an "intermediate/advanced" class and 1) class began late 2) They let a first time student take the class which slowed down the class so much that I got absolutely NOTHING from it 3) they allowed 2 more students into class 30 minutes late! Pilates is about concentration and with the instructor attempting to teach 3 different classes, it was a mess! Go to Urban Body Studios in midtown where they KNOW Pilates!!
Not worth the money. I usually don't leave negative reviews online unless I really feel it is deserved. I was pretty excited to try this place out, since it is very close to where I live. The place was much smaller than I expected, which could be a plus, but it really felt crowded and we were only about 5 people. The owner manager is very rude. The instructor was okay, but this is definitely not worth the money they charge. You can find much better value elsewhere.
WOW! What a personal approach.... I have been to studios all across the country for both Pilates and Yoga. This one is beautiful, serene and what a personal style. The quality of the instruction was just great. They were very knowledgeable. They fine tuned the exercises so I would get the most out of the work out. This experience was unique in that I felt they truely cared about me as an individual. They were attentive to my needs and physical issues.
Overpriced. I have taken Pilates classes in many studios across multiple cities. My experience has generally been positive. The same cannot be said for Body Vision. While the offerings seem adequate, the instructors are not in tune with how to get the most out of each excercise. Discipline is not empahsized either. Overall, I was not impressed. Not for the $$
