“This is a cool place to go for tapas dishes in a non-traditional atmosphere.”
“The crab cakes are also very good.”
“The liquor drinks are a bit more pricey than expected but they have a great reasonably-priced wine list with many choices no matter your preference and a nifty martini list with everything from a creamy cocoa banana martini to more fruity varieties.”

Delish!. We tried this place for the first time looking forward to the sushi. It was WONDERFUL! The atmosphere was fabulous and the musician made it relaxing and romantic. He was amazing. It was a perfect evening. Wonderful service, wonderful Super crunch tuna roll and the portions were perfect. The drinks were NOT pricey at all as mentioned in a previous review. All the prices are very very reasonable and definately worth every penny! We'll be back for the weekly specials!
Amazing Food/Service/Price.
Blue Grotto Sushi, Tapas and Bar
I had a great time in this resturant, service, environment, and specially the "LIVE MUSIC" made a big different....
I had tried the Sushi(spicy turna roll) it's amazing delicious.
I will definely come back for this place.
Awesome Asian Fusion!.
Blue Grotto Sushi, Tapas and Bar is a bright spot in the Asian Fusion food community. The unusual menu features an eclectic variety of tapas, sushi, tempura, desserts and even has a selection of kids’ meals. The restaurant has an extensive wine list and Asian inspired martinis, sake, and beer.
The decor at Blue Grotto brims with a hip, luxurious sex appeal that is appreciated by the 25 and up crowd as well as Asian Fusion enthusiasts. Two plush couches provide the perfect perch for large or small groups who want to enjoy jazz while admiring the Asian inspired art. Owner Allen Wu recently renovated the patio in front of the restaurant.
The most popular dishes include the Smoked Salmon Sushi, Rack of Lamb with Rosemary Potatoes, Spicy Tuna rolls, and the Grotto Soup which has a variety of seafood, rice, and a delicious coconut infused sauce. All meals are presented beautifully on Asian dishes with an array of sauces.
Didn't see what everyone else loved.
Went last night with some friends, because of coupon.
We had a reservation, and because of a mix up we ended up waiting for a table. No big deal! Once we sat, we waited another 10 minutes for menus.
We ordered tapas, the stuffed mushrooms were undercooked and cold. Calamari was good as were some of the other items we ordered.
Main dinner was sushi and some cooked dishes. Nothing came out at the same time! Chicken terriyaki had to much sugar taste, although the sushi was good.
Would not be rushing back to this restaurant.
I am sorry that we did not meet your expectation while you were at Blue Grotto. We are constantly making it better. Because of your feedback, we know what area we need to work. We have made improvements since your last visit. If you ever come back to Blue Grotto again, I am more than happy to meet you in person. By the way, I am Allen, the owner of Blue Grotto.
AMAZING SUSHI! EXCELLENT SERVICE!!. I have dined there a couple times and it has been amazing. Blue Grotto has excellent food and great specials. The volcano roll is my favorite! Come check it out when you get a chance and say hi to, Allen, the owner, really nice guy!
Great tasting entree. The calamari is one very good reason to eat here. Their entrees are wonderful, but the calamari is the one I look forward to every time.
A wonderful dining experience. We've come across a good friend of ours, and she informed us about this particular restaurant in Sandy Springs. Being a food lover, my husband and I decided to try it out. It definitely exceeded all our expectations! The food served to us were very appetizing. The wait staff was splendid. We will definitely be back
Fantastic Sushi.
Excellent service, very fresh sushi.
Love the tapas as well.
Quiet with nice ambiance
One of best places to go for drinks and sushi in town.
Best Restaurant in Metro Atlanta--Period..
My boyfriend and I take people to The Blue Grotto every time we have out of town guests. Over the past few years, we've introduced the restaurant to a diverse group of people. Everyone has loved it!
The food is delicious and the service is consistently good. The food always arrives extremely quickly. On occasion the owner has even stopped by our table to let us know he appreciates our business. Most times when I've gone, the restaurant has not been very crowded- which I've never understood considering how good the food is. But I'm sure it makes for better service- so I'm not complaining.
We usually order the Calamari...which is the first thing to arrive. It's terrific for sharing, and just might be the best Calamari I've had anywhere. It comes with roasted peppers and a delicious yellow sauce.
My favorite thing on the menu is the pistachio fried shrimp. The beef medallion is also terrific. My boyfriend's favorites are the lamb chops and the crawfish quesadilla. The crab cakes are also very good.
The other reviews have noted that this restaurant is expensive...which in my opinion refers mostly to the drinks. I think the food is reasonable considering it's unique and high quality. You can definitely order two things off the menu for between $12-$20 and be full. Big eaters might order three things.
The restaurant has a modern and trendy look to it. In closing, I can't think of another restaurant in Atlanta that I like even half as much. It's the only place I would recommend without a single reservation. Enjoy!
Cool Restaurant. I went to Blue Grotto with my boyfriend on one of our first dates and I really enjoyed it. The drinks were good, the tapas was tasty (though smaller than most tapas offerings at other restaurants) and the staff was very cool. My only complaint was I thought it was a bit over-priced. However, it's cool to have a place like this in the Marietta/Sandy Springs area and I'll go here before driving downtown.
