Country cookin' makes you good lookin'.
The best mac and cheese on the planet. The pot pie, pot roast, meatloaf, and everything eles are all supurb. Grab a meat, 2 "veggies" (sometime you can snag a peach cobbler :->), a bread, and a HUGE cup of sweet tea. Come starving, you'll walk away stuffed.

Classic southern cooking.
While not a place to just drop in given how large the crowd becomes after 12, it truly is worth planning a monthly lunch for a true southern country meal fix. Have yet to experience a bad meal and consider it to be one of the best for true authentic southern food in Atlanta. Hurry before the owners decide to sell or retire, we might have heard them talking about retiring to the beach??? Even the BBQ ranks up there with anything else in Atlanta.

Food so comfortable you'll want to move in.
Carver's is an old-style real county kitchen. In a converted convenience store, it has no frills. You wait in line to order directly from the kitchen, and then take a seat at a table where you'll probably be joining 3-4 other people. This place looks cramped, but the line seems to move and there's always a free seat somewhere. The food is southern cooking at its best - delicious fried chicken, fried pork chops, mashed potatoes, black eyed peas, casseroles, etc. the banana pudding is just divine. yes, you'll feel guilty afterwards, but as an occasional indulgence this place can't be beat. meat + 3 is about $7 and they serve sweet tea in cups so large you need two hands.
