“Lots of couples there, darkly lit & romantic so it would be a great place for a date, especially if you want to be able to hear your date talk!”
“His attitude was extremely aloof and surly, and he did return to ask if we would like other drinks when we had finished.”
“... I wish I could give 3.5 stars; the food here is really quite good.”
“New new brunch and dinner menus are a huge hit!”

“The bartender (bald male) was extremely rude and did not sever our party to the restaurant?”
“It's an open-faced biscuit, each side topped with a huge, crispy fried chicken breast, smothered in a creamy mushroom tarragon gravy, with (yes, there's more) two sunny-side up eggs on the side.”
“swear I've never had a bad meal there and the bar is cool too to grab a drink or quick bite.”
Fun experience. I sit at the bar everytime I'm here, but at one time I sat at the patio and was pleased by the experience. The waiters were friendly and the music wasn't so loud that we couldn't hear ourselves think. The experience was fun.
Patio Perfection. This place is (literally) across the street from my apartment, so the location is hard to beat. But, I'd come here even if I lived across town. I typically sit at the bar, (because that's where all the fun goes down after all) and because the bartenders are super friendly. We're talking shots-on-the-house-at-last-call type of friendly here. But come spring time, I take a brief hiatus from my perch at the bar and head out to what is quite possibly one of the best patios in Atlanta. The patio is quaint and shaded, and the music is piped in at the perfect volume -- loud enough to hum along, but not so loud you can't hear your dining partner. And the people-watching? Please. You're looking out onto N. Highland Avenue, so you'll see a steady stream of joggers, moms pushing adorable babies in strollers, droves of cyclers, and a handsome hipster or two headed to the art gallery next door. Don't forget to take a break from people watching and enjoy some of the best grub around. Definitely try the fried chicken biscuits during weekend brunch. It's an open-faced biscuit, each side topped with a huge, crispy fried chicken breast, smothered in a creamy mushroom tarragon gravy, with (yes, there's more) two sunny-side up eggs on the side. For lunch, try the chicken salad sandwich. This is not just any chicken salad -- it's made with blackened chicken, i.e., it's got flavor, y'all. Or stop by on a Monday for their BOGO burger deal. The veggie burger is one of my favorites in the city, and don't forget the house-made potato chips on the side. So the chairs are a tiny bit uncomfortable -- you'll forget all about that once the pleasant numbing effect sets in after you have the cafe's signature grapefruit rosewater martini. Great food and drinks on a killer patio -- that's my idea of being outdoorsy.
Worst Service in Atlanta. Mediocre food with a side of attitude and negligence. Waiter was rude and absent through most of our meal. Never going back.
Great Food, Affordable Prices, Friendly Waitstaff. I recenly went for dinner on a Saturday night. I was greeted by the owner, and was seated promptly. The waitstaff was excellent. I had the crabcake special which was delicious. The restaurant is a great place to imbibe, with impressive drink prices and great ambience. I will definitely come back in the near future.
Awesome Food- love Cafe Di Sol.
I LOVE Cafe Di sol. The service may not be the best, but the food and atmosphere make up for it BY FAR. They have an awesome heated patio - I live in Virginia Highlands and eat at Cafe di Sol probably once a week. I swear I've never had a bad meal there and the bar is cool too to grab a drink or quick bite. - the bartenders are always super nice!!
Highly recommend this restaurant despite the slower service. Just go when you're not in a huge hurry and want to hang out and enjoy a good meal in an awesome atmosphere!
Don't ever go unless you like to be ignored and wait forever!.
We were seated promptly. ordered drinks. 10 minutes later they came out. mostly. they left out 25% of our drink order. ordered food 10 minutes later. finally. 30 minutes later all the folks around us that came in after we were sat had gotten their food. 10 minutes later they were finishing and our waiter told us that he had lost our ticket. (if you are counting that is an hour into our stay)
no apology for it. he sounded stoned. we had to reorder. we were starving at that point. when it finally came out my burger was well done when i asked for it medium. bacon was burnt on all the plates that had it and they didn't get the correct sides on one of our plates.
what an awful miserable experience. we will NEVER be back.
save yourself some grief and never think of going!
Terrible Customer Service. Good food, terrible service! We went on a Friday night, were seated promptly, and the waitress immediately came by and asked for our drink order. We ordered appetizer and 2 entrees and 45 minutes later....no food and no sign of the waitress!!! Finally after I caught her eye twice and made some pathetic hungry smiles she told us our ticket was up next. "But...will our appetizer be out soon?" "Oh, forgot about that. You still want it?" No apology or smile. Finally we get our food and 10 minutes later our edamame arrives. She disappeared again and it took several efforts to get our check. Turns out they charge for subsitutions too, which she didn't tell us beforehand. I couldn't help but notice that she was very attentive to the nearby table of men that was ordering a lot of martinis. The only time she smiled and apologized for the wait was when she brought back my credit card (aka tip time). If I go back I'll be sure to sit in someone else's section!!!
Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere!. I had lunch at Cafe di Sol one day with my brother and was so disappointed I'd never tried it before! I decided that day to hold my Birthday dinner there for about 20 friends on a Saturday night. It was perfect! The staff was so accommodating and the food was again, delicious and affordable. I'd recommend this place to anyone!
Good food, service can be spotty. I am torn ... I wish I could give 3.5 stars; the food here is really quite good. Everything seems fresh and of good quality, and the food has been quite consistent. However, the service can be underwhelming, a few of the servers are friendly and somewhat attentive, while others you have to flag down several times to get any attention, and then after your place your order, good luck seeing them again. I brought out of town friends here one night after talking it up and was mortified when one friend asked what the soup of the day was and the server just shrugged and said 'I don't know' ... we never did find out. Honestly, the bus boy that brings us our water is consistently the most attentive and friendly employee, if it wasn't for him, we'd often have nothing to drink. It's obviously not been bad enough to keep from going back, but every time we go I hope that things will have improved and so far, not so much. To end on a positive note, they have a great menu, and very nice brunch, a cute atmosphere, if you are not high maintenance, you will probably like it.
Good Food & Atmosphere. I went to dinner w/ a friend @ EDS last night & had a very nice, quiet dinner. I had read complaints about the service before going, but didn't experience any problems. Our waitress (I think her name was Danielle) was very nice & didn't come around too much to bother us or too little to not tend to our needs. Our dinner started w/ the cheese plate, then hummus, which was good & garlicky. I had the salmon entree & my friend had the crab cakes. I had no complaints about my entree but my friend said her crab was a little salty. EDS was surprisingly slow on this Saturday night & hopefully they will pick up & stay in business, but there is tough competition in that area. It wasn't the most memorable dinner I've ever had, but it was pleasant & I would go again if I was in the area. Lots of couples there, darkly lit & romantic so it would be a great place for a date, especially if you want to be able to hear your date talk!
