Cheesy Smarmy Chef. Initially, I was happy to find Palate so close to my home and was having dinner there frequently. However, I will not be returning because the Chef, Gary Menes, basically conducts himself as if he were just released from prison. After I spent over $300 on dinner and wine, Gary Menes pulled my date aside and told her next time she should come without me. Gary obviously has zero class and no respect for Palate's clientele. There are simply too many other great restaurants in Los Angeles, who will welcome you with open arms and treat you with the respect, to subject yourself to this kind of unprofessionalism.

My favorite wine bar. The staff at Palate is so helpful and has great recommendations. I don't even look at the menu anymore, I just tell them what I'm in the mood for and they never let me down. Perfect patio for nice nights and artsy interior for other nights. Food, especially desserts, are great.

Great place to take a date, friends, or parents.. My husband and I love going here for wine and dessert. The restaurant is in a really neat historic building in a charming part of Decatur. Although the dinner menu is small, everything we have tried has been very good.

I have also been here with girlfriends for their wine tastings, and everyone had a fabulous time.

excellent addition!. This place is awesome. The service is great, and totally unpretentious, the wines are excellent, regardless of which price point you opt for. Also, the front patio is a great spot to sit and people watch, or sitting inside there is a gallery next door that welcomes browsing with your wine. I haven't eaten here yet, but the menu looks awesome.

Great new menu, great wine, wonderful atmosphere. Palate's new dinner menu is so delicious! I was expecting it to be good, but it was completely impressive! The atmosphere is comfortable, relaxing and fun! This is the PERFECT place to wind down after a hard day's work!

Always consistent, always inviting. I've been coming to Palate for over a year, and it is my friends and family's favorite place to hang out! My out-of-town friends always put Palate on their list of must dos when in town. Palate is in a gorgeous historic building, and is elegant without being stuffy. The wine bar staff is knowledgable to help wine newbies feel comfortable asking questions and trying new wine. Their Thursday wine tasting is always a great time to find a new favorite wine without having to commit to an entire glass. Above all, Palate is always consistent. The food is always fresh, the staff is always welcoming, and the atmosphere is always inviting. Cheers Palate! Thanks for many wonderful nights!

A gem in Oakhurst. A friend and I decided to try Palate for a night of wine tasting, and had a fabulous experience. Palate offers 4 different "levels" in their wine menu, with the option to purchase a glass, a bottle, or an "endless" glass, allowing you to sample as many wines as you would like. The wines on all lists are interesting and diverse, and well picked- the least expensive one still even includes a sparkling wine and a port! They also offer a selection of small plates to snack on with your wine, and the wine bar is attached to a small art gallery, which you may peruse at your leisure. Overall, Palate provides and excellent evening in atmosphere and tasty libations. It's a true delight!
