Good People! Honest businessman!

I didn't actually use J G & Sons Movers, but the owner spent a lot of time talking with me about the job I needed completed and he helped me find a cheaper but solid alternative. How many businesses will take the time to do that in this economy?? I was so impressed and thankful! I'll definitely use J G & Sons for my next move..!

Great company! Movers were at my place on time and worked very hard to unload all the furniture and boxes. Not one scratch or dent!

Very polite workers! Great price! And I speak from experience - we move every couple of years all over the US.

Disappointing

I called JG & Sons for help with loading a rental truck for my move. I was impressed both by their online reviews and with my first conversation with a gentleman from JG&Sons. After deciding to use them for my move, I called back to schedule and spoke with a woman that took my appointment and billing information. We scheduled an 8:30am move.

The night before the move, I received a call to confirm the move from Gwen(?) and she confirmed for 9am. I told her that we had booked 8:30am and she then confirmed the 8:30 start time. On moving day, they were a no show. I called JG&S at 8:45 and was told they were slow moving and should be arriving on site at 9am. At 9:15, we received a second call saying they were on route and would be about 15 more minutes. Around 9:30, Gwen arrived but there were no movers. She then told us they never book before 10am and continued to make excuses about a new girl booked the job, etc, etc. The movers finally arrived at 9:45.

JG&Sons offered excuses for the tardiness but made no attempts to fix the time issue before moving day. I would not have booked them if I knew they would not be on time and would not be on site before 10am. We had time sensitive appointments out of state for the day that were missed because of this delay.

To their credit, the helpers did a good job of packing the truck and the gentleman to whom I first spoke referred me to eMove where I found fabulous helpers for the other side of the move. The destination crews professionalism helped relieve me of my ire with JG&Sons.
