Shopping Made Easy. My favorite way to shop is strolling leisurely through local boutiques, especially in the Virginia-Highlands area. But when I'm in need of several outfits at once, whether for the office or for travel, then it's time for some serious shopping. For me, that means Nordstrom at Phipps Plaza. This place is the epitome of one-stop shopping: clothes, shoes, accessories, makeup, and perfume.

For those who don't like huge department store shopping, I have three words for you: Free Personal Shopper. The first time I experienced this, I just assumed I stumbled upon an especially helpful salesperson. I've since learned, however, that this is just one of the fabulous services provided by Nordstrom. Make an appointment, let your shopper know what size you are and what you like, and off they go. This works even more flawlessly when you and your new best friend get to know each other better. You can call in advance, tell him or her what you need, explain your budget, then show up at the specified time and you're whisked away to a dressing room gloriously filled with all the appropriate outfits, all in your style and your size. They'll even go about the store searching for matching shoes and accessories. And with the extensive size and collections of clothing at Nordstrom, you're sure to find something to fit your style and budget. It's pure retail bliss.

Nirvana At Nordstrom-Phipps Plaza!. Finally the great Nordstrom, of Seattle, has made it's way to Buckhead and Phipps Plaza. Nordstrom set the ATL on its ear a few years ago, arriving first at Perimeter Mall. And now I don't have to schelp out to Dunwoody. Everything is here. The Pianist on Baby Grand, to great contemporary art-work through out, and a wonderful assortment of high end merchandise. And the legendary shoe department is alive and kicking.

Just the best low key staff, who let you browse, and are at your beck and call with great personal service. Hungry? Check-out "The Bistro" upstairs for a great nosh while shopping. Old concepts are new again at Norsdstrom!

Founded as a Seattle shoe store in 1901, this popular chain is now known for manageably priced designer duds. Shoppers find a hint of sophistication in the store's white floors and pianists on baby grands. Unique departments include the Brass Plum juniors' section with Ruby Rox and Diesel, and Studio 121 for career-savvy women. A business-centric men's clothing department offers Ben Sherman suits, while relaxed styles from Marc Jacobs and Lacoste are in The Rail department.
