Best Seafood

by DennisnAtlanta at Citysearch

I have seen some of the other reviews and I completely disagree with anyone who says the seafood is not good. I have never had a bad food experience here.

Without a doubt the best seafood in Atlanta. Far exceeds Atlanta Fish Market in Buckhead. The seafood is fresh and flown in daily. Large selection of fish, crab and lobster dishes. The steak selections are good as well, but you should go here for the seafood. My favorate is the King crab. It's a chain, but does not have a chain feel.

The wait staff is extremely helpful with the daily line up. I have had one or two waiters that I did not like, so I now request a specific waiter. The menu changes daily depending on the availability of fresh seafood. They will do just about any preparation you want and bend over backwards to make sure you are happy.

The side dishes are large and should be shared. Wine selections are extensive and they pour generous servings.

The atmosphere is elegant but I have been there in nice jeans and a nice shirt and felt comfortable. It?s not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I suspect that some who don't rate the place well suffer from the shock of the cost.

  • Pros: Excellent Seafood
  • Cons: Some wait staff are not that good

Good service.....terrible food!

by hank755 at Citysearch

Terrible food. The service was good - no complaints there - but the food was horrible. My girlfriend and I both had rainbow trout - mine was overcooked...very dry. I thought that was bad but when I noticed that my gf was hardly eating hers I tried a bite and it was so undercooked it was disgusting. This was a big letdown as the only meat I eat is fish and was excited about going there. Like I said the service was fine & the place is nice enough but that is easiily one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had.

  • Pros: Good service
  • Cons: Horrible food....especially for the price

the seafood was ok

by lalababy at Citysearch

My expectations were way too high when I entered Oceanaire. The setting is wonderful and just like a boat. The theme goes along with the WHOLE restaurant, including the bathrooms that I liked. The food was okay though, I thought I was looking for more though. My fish was too sweet and my buddys food order got mixed up. My service wasn't as prompt as I wanted it to be also. I had to TRY to catch my waiter for about 10 minutes when he kept walking by me. This place is too pricey for the service and food.

  • Pros: the setting/theme
  • Cons: pricey for the quality
