Editorial Review for Sutra Lounge – by Vivian Kuo
The Scene
Swank without being pretentious, Sutra is a welcome asylum for upscale hipsters who want to see the plastic-surgery money spent on the decor and not necessarily on the clientele. While the general layout remains the same from the erstwhile Crescent Room, the immeasurably improved mood lighting allows for smoldering sideways glances, as well as the ability to see the drink in your hand. The ultra-lounge features both plenty of plush seating for tired partygoers and for those energized party people, plenty of room to shake it.
The Draw
Those fortunate enough to gain VIP status will enjoy the partially partitioned areas separating the royalty from the crowd. The glass-enclosed back area overlooking the main room is a see-and-be-seen fishbowl, with its own fully-stocked bar equipped with enthusiastic bartenders. DJs vary nightly, keeping the dance floor hyped up by spinning an amalgam of contemporary and old-school hits.

me and my friend decided to go to sutra lounge last night and that was the reason the night was ruined. While standing in line we heard the doorman tell a couple of people that if they didnt have girls with them they would have to wait an hour, i thought that was the reason dudes went to the club was to socialize with women, but on top of that it seems like they were disrespectful to people of color, as they let caucasian and asian patrons in over african american americans, we felt really disrespected and left. Take my advice never ever go to sutra
Pros: nothing
Cons: everything

OMG! I had never been to a club before and my sister said lets go. So we get there and it was already a great vibe soon as you get there. I loved that there isn't a dress code. Although I dressed to the 9 last night. We ordered a drink and we started watching everyone dance. After I 2nd drink, we were rocking on the dance floor. It's such a friendly place and I really felt comfortable there. The drinks were awesome, the staff was very nice & the customers rocked! Thanx for my first great experience with a club!!!
