Wow, can't beleive that it happened.
Here’s my incredibly ridiculous experience with Fry’s Electronics…
Needed a new projector and called ahead to make sure product was in stock. They told me it was. When I arrived, it was not. Then they explain to me that they have “comparable” models to the projector that I needed. I decided to trust the store employees because I have no reason not to thus far so I take the “comparable” model. I was told on that first visit that I had 15 days to return for whatever reason.. After I set up the “comparable” model, it wasn’t stretching the picture enough. Called the manufacturer and they told me to exchange it for different model as it didn’t have the right specs. I returned the product within the 15 days. They still didn’t have the original model I was looking for so they sold me another product that was 200 dollars more than the original. I took it because it was for a restaurant and I needed it that day. This mode this time had picture too big so I went back to return the second faulty product for a third time. This time they proceeded to charge me $150 restocking fee even though the last employee I spoke with told me that they would not charge the restocking fee since I had so many issues with my previous purchases. The same woman I spoke with about waiving the $150 restocking fee lied to my face and told me she never said that…even though she did. I would gladly pay it if I didn't ask specific questions about it. Instead, I left feeling cheated.
Worst Customer Service! Incompetence at Best!.
Went into Fry's to purchase some computer equipment and look at new monitors. They had a display for buy 1 get one 1/2 software. After the items rang up incorrectly it took 20 minutes for someone to figure out that in the bottom of the table display ad they had mouse print saying that they had to be from same manufacturer.
After all of this, they wanted me to walk halfway across the store to talk to a manager who would explain the sign.
Do not waste your time and money - Complete Idiots with poor customer service.
I'm a nerd.
A few times a year I make the pilgrimage to Fry's to upgrade my computer and buy gifts, and random electronics hobby stuff. Its 45 minutes away from where I live, but its worth it. I always wander around the store for hours. Pricing is reasonable.
With more than 50,000 electronic items in each store, this high-tech superstore offers one-stop shopping and service for professionals and hobbyists.. In Short Family-founded in the heart of Silicon Valley in 1985, Fry's has become a staple for technophiles in the Western U.S. Keeping up with the latest technological trends, it offers quality computer hardware and software, audio and video equipment and telecommunication products. Each store, which range in size from 50,000 to 180,000 square feet, decorates the aisles with its own unique theme--from Alice in Wonderland to Atlantis--making every shopping trip a fun experience.
Finally in GA.
I fell in love with Fry's when I lived in Dallas, TX and when I moved back to Atlanta, I was surprised and excited to have more than just Best Buys and Circut City to get my electronics. They always have a great selection and the staff is ALWAYS friendly and never try to oversell.
