Two Urban Licks

Fiery Imaginative American Cooking

  • Live Blues Music Nightly
  • Extensive Wine List
  • Dinner and Late Supper

Urban Licks is high-energy and no rules.

Chef Scott Sepas' fiery American cooking combines the best of his New Orleans heritage with a love for Southwestern heat and a dedication to the boldest seasonal flavors.

From small plates for sharing to chef's fish of the day, the food at TWO is kissed with flames and bursting with flavor. The menu is approachable, yet uncommon, with thoughtful pairings reflecting the high-energy environment.

Changing nightly, the menu includes fried oysters, beef brisket and bronzed scallops, to name a few. Our Wine Wall, housing 42 barrels of wine produced exclusively for the restaurant and our 14-foot wood fire rotisseries are Two Urban Licks originals that should not be missed.

Two Urban Licks is a restaurant experience like you've never known, in a place so unique, you might not believe your own eyes.

Editorial Review for Two Urban Licks – by Jennifer Soong

The Scene
The hubbub of the cavernous dining room can be overwhelming at first. Bulbous red lanterns and flickering wall sconces cast a spell, as well as a mesmerizing mural of a girl amid exotic animals. A 14-foot-tall wood-pit rotisserie tower heats up the scene. But the real show-stopper is the stunning view of the Midtown skyline. Service can be hit-or-miss, but there are plenty of distractions, like live blues.

The Food
The central open kitchen, where Chef Scott Serpas holds court, draws attention to the culinary action. Jump-start your meal with the lemon crab fritters, bursting with a creamy filling. The flame-tendered dishes capture the imagination, from lamb lollipops to portobello pie, the lone vegetarian entree. Meat lovers have plenty to cheer about, from the baby back ribs to smoked beef brisket. For a grand finale, sample the irresistible chocolate cream pie or carrot cake, brandished with a candied apple.

Insider Tips

Know Before You Go

The restaurant is tucked away from the road. Follow Somerset until you pull all the way up to the valet platform.

Where to Sit

The tables with the best view are also near the rotisserie, which can get toasty. To catch the kitchen in action, request a stool at the chef's table.

What to Drink

Sample a half glass of wine to find the right selection to complement your meal.

WOW! Had the opportunity to discover this place on a trip to Atlanta from MN. I had the American shrimp (and shared several appetizers and desserts with friends). Great southern and european style cuisine in a trendy, but casual atmosphere. Amazing view of the downtown skyline, great service, and an overall positive experience. The menu is printed daily...so next time I'm down in Atlanta...2 Urban Licks will be a dinner stop for me! Go here...you will not be disappointed!

The decor is beautiful. It has a beautiful view of the city as well. However, the food was mediocre at best. It was disappointing. I don't mind spending a lot for dinner, but I expect it to be good when I do. Also, the hostess tried to lie and act like we weren't going to get a seat based on not having a reservation, but another guy came right up and gave us a pretty good seat. It's more hype than delicious.

Pros: Nice view and attractive environment

Cons: Food wasn't great and it was too loud
