Editorial Review for The Mission Motif – by Jennifer Olvera

In Short
Dedicated to the Arts and Crafts movement, this store offers a large collection of Mission-style furniture, indoor and outdoor lighting and accessories such as mailboxes, mica lamps and architecturally inspired rugs. Hammered copper bases grace table lamps, while cool ceramic tile address numbers make a statement before anyone steps foot into homes. Beds, cabinets and accent tables also are on hand or can be ordered.

Insider Tips

Know Before You Go

The store specializes in quarter-sawn wood pieces, which means the timber is cut lengthwise through the center, producing a "ribbon and ray" look with bands of color in the finished product.

The Extras

The Mission Motif is happy to order items that aren't stocked in the store from catalogs.

This shop has unique items that you'll find nowhere else in Atlanta. Very helpful staff. They know their products and are truely interested in making sure you are happy!

Pros: solid product lines, unique items, nice restaurant in same development

Cons: no MDF furniture here

I was amazed when I found The Mission Motif. The Ephraim Pottery is to die for. All the products are hand crafted adhereing to the arts and crafts style. It was the perfect place to shop for period style lighting and furniture for my 1920 bungalow. I love my new hand knotted wool rug with the ginkgo motif. A must see for the arts and crafts lover. The Highland Avenue location was nice but the new Kirkwood Location on Hosea Williams Drive is grand.

Pros: Unique handcrafted products that are hard to find, plenty of parking, friendly staff, stunning showroom

Cons: Location is out of the mainstream but well with it once you get there.
