Worst Customer Service

by Rukiya54

Wait times beyond excessive, not enough wait staff for the crowds of customers, seated a a table in bar area only to be told 1.5 minutes later it is "RESERVED for the band they will be here in 30 minutes." the check was left on the table and reserved sign, too. I was drill eating the food that was served less than 30 minutes prior. The extreme insult occurred when an older man(who had been standing at the bar without a seat) began moving the table were we were still seated away from me with my remaining boxed food! It was insulting and the worst restaurant experience

I've had in all of my 58 years. Unfortunately, the food is very good...if I could have not given 1 star I would have done so! I was there on Sunday evening...donor expect good or average CS. McDonald's service is hundreds of times better. Average entree is over $10 and too much to pay for such terrible service. The hostess and one waitress were nice but way overworked. Why when the owner is raking in dough from tons of customers.

Terrible

Me and a group of friends were in Atlanta last Sunday for a layover. We decided to go out to eat dinner, Michon's looked very promising. Obviously we should have read the reviews first. We were seated right away and had our drink orders taken. We arrived around 6:30 and didn't get our food until after 8pm. Three of us ordered brisket only to be told 20 minutes later that they would have to make some more brisket and it would take several hours. (actually, a brisket would take at least 6 hours to properly smoke). Our server suggested we order something else. The server rarely came to our table and around 7:40 I asked to speak to a manager saying that we did not have our food. The manager never showed. Then the server came by and told us our food was coming up.

Half an hour later, no food. One of us went to the host stand and again asked to speak to a manager. Still, no manager came. The host started to say that we were a large group (6 people) and it takes longer. She failed to recognize however that the party of 8 people that sat after us was already done eating as was every table that had been sat within the first hour of us arriving.

Then, the server brought us out some smoked wings to appease us. The wings, I admit, were delicious. Around 8:20, our food finally arrived. It was mediocre at best. The Sweet Potato Souffle was seasoned way too heavily with nutmeg. The pork I had to order instead of my brisket was a pile of fat. We had asked for a side of tartar sauce when our food was dropped off that I finally had to stand up and ask a bartender to get for us after 10 minutes of waiting. It was disgusting as was the fried catfish it was meant to be dressing.

Worst of all, when we received our bill (the server had realized that there was no way he was worth the automatic 18% gratuity and took it off) we were appalled to see there was an Entertainment Fee of $2 per entree. "What entertainment?" we asked our server. We spent the past two hours watching a car race and America's Funniest Home Videos while listening to an awful Jazz Muzak station. There was no live entertainment. The server said "I'll have her take that off, too." Is "her" the mysterious manager we never saw or spoke to?

All in all, a waste of our time and money. An awful way to introduce us to Atlanta and an awful way for us to show our husbands a great Father's Day. The manager and the staff should be ashamed of themselves.

Not worth the trip

by LYW

Went to Michon's on 6/12 for a group dinner. Waiters looked confused and don't know how to serve food. They were passing plates over other's food instead of walking around and placing pate in front of guest.

Service was very slow and my beef brisket was barely warm and the green beans too salty. Another guest's dessert was served in a bowl with a huge chip.

Then to top it off, they were unable to accept debt or credit card payment because their internet was down. However, they just happen to have an ATM machine poorly placed in front of the bathrooms.

They need to do much better for me to return.

Great restaurant; bad customer service

by DBBrown

I went to Michon's on Tuesday night. The food was really good BUT...when I attempted to pay for my food; the waitress proceeded to inform me that their credit card machine wasn't working yet because they just opened at this location. I asked if there was a sign on the door to inform the public. Note: They did have the Visa logo on the door so I assumed that I could use my card. She stated that she was sorry but they had a teller machine in the restaurant that was operational. Needless to say, I had to pay a $3.00 fee to use the machine and my bank will charge me a fee as well. The management did not discount my bill to cover the charges. Honestly, they did not make any concession. I would have appreciated a manager coming over to apologize and a discount to cover the fees I incurred. My food was $19.00, I tipped the server $5 (because it wasn't her fault and she was very nice), and the fees were $6.00 ($3.00 ATM fee and $3.00 bank fee), giving me a total of a $30.00 disaster, which ruined my experience.

  • Pros: Very good wings!

Wonderful Wings

by Gr1922

I've been to Mishon's on several occasions. I've been when there were only three people in my party and I've been when there were at least 25 in my party. The customer service is always awful. I even complained to the lady who I thought was the manager or owner and it didn't change a thing. On my return, the only thing that changed, was the service was worst than the last time. You would think, in this hour of financial hardship, when a lot of people are cutting back on eating out and being somewhat choicy in choosing places to eat, based on what is being offered and for how much, you would think their management would be tough on the staff in making sure there customer service skills are up to par. I would think about going back to a restaurant, even if the food was not the greatest, if, while patronizing that establishment, I was made to feel comfortable and the customer service was really good. Even more so, word of mouth in a business such as this, is your best asset. The owners of Mishons really need to take a long and serious look at what their staff is doing, before it's too late. There are too many restaurants in Atlanta and the surrounding areas, that serve great food as well as great smoked wings. I have not been back to Mishons since June 2009 and I have no intention of ever returning. Even when we went in June, we left without eating because, after waiting forever to be seated (it was on a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was not even crowded at all) we had to continue to wait, for these two particular waitresses to make up there minds as to who was going to wait on us. That was it for me. I will never spend my hard earned money in Mishons, ever again.

  • Pros: Great Tasting Wings
  • Cons: Horrible, Horrible Customer Service and Wait Time
