I LOVE IT TOO!!!. This church welcomes EVERYONE with open arms just as Jesus called EVERYONE AND ANYONE who would listen. I love it here. The gospel is clearly given. The poeple are wonderfully kind. There is an acknolwedgement that EVERYONE is a sinner and that we all fall short. I love this non-condemning attitude. Most importantly the Sermons are relevant and really stick with you.

Buckhead Church Is AWESOME!!!. I have been attending Buckhead Church regularly since May 2006. I absoluetly love the sermons. The mission for the church is to reach unchurched people. The church leadership realizes that many people have been burned by other churches. The LOVE and GRACE of Jesus Christ is so evident in the teaching and in those who attend. The attitude is that it is okay to agree to disagree. I have found this mindset to be so rare in churches. What I have found is that divisive topics don't divide here. The most important thing is that we agree on who Jesus was and what he did for us. As a gay man, I have never felt more welcome in any other church...EVER. The services are so well done. The sermons are the type that stay with you all week long.

They Secretly Think You Are Going To Hell. I've been to BC several times now. The service is usually entertaining insofar as the production values are pretty darn high and insofar as the preaching can keep your attention. But, what they don't "push down your throat" is what they really believe about non-really-conservative Christians, Muslims, Gays, Democrats, etc.

They really think that homosexual people are going to hell. They think that gays should not be given any equality whatsoever. They worry that Democrats are going to hell. As a majority of their people see it, Republican = God's Way. And if you are black... you are definitely not welcome here. I mean, they're definitely a white's only church. Of course they aren't overt about it---but the preaching, the small groups, etc., are all about white people issues and concerns. Their main goal is to convert wealthy upper class Buckhead white folks-- and that's it. Everyone else be damned.

At BHC your relavance is that of a simple number.. This church preaches the importance of developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ however your significance in the church is that of a number. The church is too busy controlling the masses. If you ask why BHC leadership why they can't devote any effort to individual needs they will respond with excuses that the population is growing beyond its control. Group conformity is the key to being accepted and so it is almost like joining a cult. In reality, the church puts more effort into Feng Shui (furnature and lighting) than to their mission which is to ... to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Their stategy is ... to create environments where people are encouraged and equipped to pursue intimacy with God, community with insiders, and influence with outsiders. However, you will find that the church itself puts little effort into its mission and strategy. It is upon you to acheive this for the church. For this reason, membership in the church has little significance. The mission and strategy are simply marketing slogans. You can be a member of this church and still be as equally lost in the crowd as someone walking through the door for the first time.

If you attend BHC you will be a number. The significance of the number depends upon your ability to conform to the specific requirements of a quarterly meeting where the leadership gives you 15 minutes to introduce yourself to a group of people you don't know and form a bible study during a week night. The church's effort is to simply advertise the meeting, open the space, and provide sandwiches. The church itself provides absolutely no formality to the group formation process. However these community groups are the primary means of forming fellowship in the church.
