“The hairdresser was decent, the location was convenient, and I just got tired of looking for a good stylist.”
“Manager is rude - as though you're intruding on his time, rather than providing him with business.”
“When I woke up the next morning my eye was almost swollen shut and there was a huge scab where the eyebrow area was supposed to be.”

This is my first review, and I just have to write it considering what an awful experience I had here. I had been seeing my regular, experienced stylist who had been cutting my hair for two years. I usually had to prebook an appointment far in advance, but I have short hair that needs to be maintained, so that was never a problem. However, with the advent of the new receptionist, they stopped prebooking appointments. Then, when I would call at least a week in advance to get an appointment, they'd tell me he was booked -- and then try to book me two or more weeks later. If I told the receptionist a time frame I was available, she wouldn't even look at the schedule, just tell me there wasn't anything available. If I'd ask her to try another time, she wouldn't even look -- just give me dates SHE wanted to. She was also VERY RUDE every time I spoke with her.
Then, when I had to cancel an appointment at the last minute due to something that came up abruptly, the salon charged me almost a MONTH LATER for canceling the appointment. They'd never done this before -- and DID IT WITHOUT PERMISSION. The charge just showed up on my statement; not even a phone call, no explanation. Which means they kept my credit card number in their system and charged me without my consent!
I loved my stylist but will no longer go to a salon which charges my credit card without prior approval! Do not let them rip you off, too!
ANNOYING!. Not only did I experience the same thing as a previous reviewer wrote -- I would call for an appointment with my regular, experienced stylist and would be told he was booked -- I also found their habit of having their receptionist call me to remind me of my appointment annoying. I'm just glad my regular stylist has left Jon Van and gone to a different salon...
will try to trick you into using a stylist that is less experienced so they pay less. I used to go to my regular very experienced stylist. They would tell me he was booked when he wasn't and try to get me to use someone that they pay less. When I would call for an appointment I would frequently get the answering machine and noone would call me back for several days.
Avoid this hair salon. Unfriendly management, entirely too long waiting time--especially when appointment had been made weeks in advance. Do not recommend.
Worst haircut ever. The worst haircut I have ever had. The stylist disregarded all of my preferences. In addition, the place is messy. They don't have an assistant to wash hair and sweep up the cuttings, so the stylists do it themselves. There are brooms and dustpans everywhere.
Awesome team. I really had a great experience in this salon. It is much needed in this neighborhood.
