Tips for East Lake Diner

McDonough diner serves fresh-roasted coffee and eclectic fare in a sleek, urban setting.. In Short
Billing itself as a diner-coffeehouse, this lofty space is more urban Atlanta than suburban McDonough. Counter seating, comfy booths, dark woods and soft halogen lighting create the relaxed, contemporary vibe. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, East Lake's eclectic menu features everything from blue-plate specials like country-fried steak to more health-conscious fare like bison steaks and broiled grouper. Fresh roasted coffee from Hunter Bay Coffee Roasters in Montana is shipped to the restaurant weekly.

East Lake Diner. Well-cooked, tasty home-style food is the best seller here, though they have more arcane items on the menu, such as buffolo steak. The coffee is excellent. It took awhile for it to settle into what it is, but it seems to be doing well now, around 2 years after it opened. The "home-cooked" dinners are excellent, well-prepared, non-greasy, delicious. My favorite is the Hickory ham and the pork roast.
