Stuck up people? We have been bringing our dogs here for three years and they are always happy when we drop them off. The folks working here know my dogs by name when we get there and are excited to see them. My dogs love being there and that's what's important to us. Thanks to the folks working here, if not for them doing their jobs we would not be able to take our vacations.

Do not take your dogs to this kennel!!!. I have read the previous negative reviews and also the one written by the employee. I thought I should give it a try since it is so close to my house. BUt it was a bad mistake!!! The kennel hasn't changed a bit. My dog stayed in the kennel for 2 weeks while I was on vacation. When I picked him up, I was told he peed on his bed and they had wash it. I thought that's not something my dog would do. And then I noticed he drank an usually large amount of water and couldn't contol his bladder. He basically peed every hour, many times in the house. He was house broken and never had an accident before. I took him to the vet and found out he got infected in the kennel (urinary tract infection). The kennel is dirty and smells bad. I would NEVER take my dog back there. And I do not recommend anyone to bring their be-loved dogs to this kennel, if you don't want your dogs to get sick!

Furry Friends; Pulled Out of the Fire. My name is Sarah and I am an employee at Furry Friends Pet Lodge. I am shocked and appalled at the past experiences of our lost customers. I couldn't agree more with their choice for leaving. No body wants to come back from a great vacation or holiday to a wet and terrified pet. I would like to formally apologize for any bad experiences anyone has had with us.

I have been employed with Furry Friends for only 2 months now and from what I have heard about how it used to be I was shocked myself. Fortunately, Furry Friends is now under new management (since April of this year,2010) and a new fully pet educated and loving team. Our manager, Rachael, myself, and six others are determined to make your pets stay as comfortable and relaxed as possible.

I would like to invite any new and old customers to please come by and see how things have changed for the better. Feel free to ask us about our experience and our love of animals. I, personally, have 3 dogs, 3 cats, and a horse. I have had numerous other dogs and cats throughout my life and love EVERY kind of animal.

Please stop by anytime or call to be shown around. Ask us as many questions as you like.

Although we aren't top of the line in facilities, we're striving for a gold standard of care.

Terrible, Frightening Care of My Animals. I am always suspicious of a lone ,positively glowing review of a business for which there are several other negative reviews. I always suspect someone closely associated with the business is getting on line and entering a phony, positive reivew for itself in a feeble attempt to counter the negative reviews of former clients.

Here is my negative review:

I went away for a long weekend and boarded my 3 dogs. When I picked them up (this was winter) they were wet, they smelled so bad it was hard to be in the car with them and they had to be bathed IMMEDIATELY upon getting home. The bedding I provided was urine and feces soaked. But worst of all, most heartbreaking to me, was that each dog - I had 3 there - was frightened and shaking! I wish they could talk. I don't want to imagine what went on there. But, there is absolutely no way I would ever allow another one of my pets to spend a minute of time at Furry Friends Lodge and Resort. This place is just minutes from my home, but I will drive 45 minutes to get to get to my preferred kennel.

Terrible Experience...spend the money go some where else...... We left our two dogs over Thanksgiving break 2007. I should have known something was wrong when I called to check on them and they asked if I was calling about the two cats. We were forced into an exit bath for both. They charged us $20.00 each dog. It seemed like a good idea. When my husband picked up our dogs not only was their bed covered/drenched in urine and feces, but so where our dogs. Where was this exit bath? Before my husband picked them up he called to make sure their baths were done. They told us they were still wet, so we had to wait to see our babies. The smell from my dogs when we brought them home was unbearable. We had to give them a bath ourselves at a self serve dog place.

My husband went back only to be told that the so called "exit" bath was given 2 days before in order for them not to be backed up. They had a lot of dogs there. We did however get our $40,00 dollars back but we had to ask for it.

My biggest fear is that when they lock up and leave at 5:00 that is lights out and no more "outside" time for the dogs. So that's 5:00pm-9:00 am that your animal does not go outside, eat, or see another human being. I don't think that a family pet should be treated like that.

I am happy to say even though we are paying a lot more to board our dogs else where, I am excited for them to have a better experience this time around with ice cream treats and everything. And the best part will be their "grandparents" get to check in on them!

If you had a good or bad experience please post something. It would have been nice to know ahead of time.

Poor Service - going down hill. We use to exclusively use Furry Friends. However, over the last year 2006 -2007 their service has declined. Usually we kennel 3 dogs during vacation 7-9 days. Last year two dogs returned with mild kennel cough and we lost one blanket. This year. One dog returned with a more serious case. They are either accepting un-vaccinated dogs or are not doing a good job cleaning in our opinion. They also were unable to locate one of the blankets claiming it was in the wash. We believe it was in the wash, one of the blankets they returned to us was urine soaked. Our dogs can hold their urine well past 8 hours which tells us they are either under staffed or getting lazy. I train bird dogs and it seems to me the staff knowledge has deteriorated. It my opinion, some of the staff there do not have any knowledge, even in basic obedience or dog behavior which should be a requirement of someone watching your dog professionally in my opinion. It' s unfortunate because the fist visit seemed to be a success and trusted leaving our dogs there. After the most recent visit, we spoke to the owner about it and he was defensive. He said nothing about the missing blanket, nothing about the urine soaked blanket, and tried to claim the kennel cough was contracted leaving the facility. He was only willing to discount $50 dollars off a bill of $550.00 dollars. That did not even cover the vet cost for the kennel cough. We spoke to the owner about it and he was defensive.

Best Ever. I have looked far and wide for a kennel that was reasonable with care that was second to none. I am so pleased with Furry Friends. They have always gone above and beyond the call of duty to help me and Buggsy with the times I go out of town. Buggsy is always so proud of his hair cut also.
