Couples Massage. This is the best place for a couples massage. The room is large and quiet. The therapists do a wonderful job, and leave you wanting more.
terrible experience at the pamper the bride event. I paid for a friend and I to go Hammam's "pamper the bride" open house recently, and I was very disappointed. The event was horribly organized. There were no signs, no sign up sheets, and we spent more time standing in line than we enjoyed their services. We were told we couldn't use the hot tub or sauna because they were having a plumbing problem. To top everything off, they wouldn't validate our parking, so we both had to pay $7 to get out of their parking lot.
Laughably BAD experience.
First off, they do not validate your parking. Which is annoying when you are charging $150 for a facial. Once I arrived the girl at the reception desk was dressed extremely sloppily and unprofessionally. Not good in a visual industry.
While changing I could hear men working on the sauna or something, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable like I was going to get busted in on by some man while changing. It gets worse. My technician is possibly the rudest woman I have ever encountered. She told me all about herself, her travels, how wonderfully smart and wealthy all of her children are, how she hates Atlanta compared to the other cities she has lived in (turns out she doesn't live in Atlanta - like I DO, but rather in a remote suburb). As if that wasn't rude enough she went on to tell me how terrible my skin was. I might as well give up because apparently my face is on the fast track to hideousness. Unlike her, she was blessed with her complexion (I am not making this up, I have been cracking up my friends with this story for weeks) "I was lucky, I got my mother's lovely coloring and my father's thick skin. You have very thin skin, you are likely to have red splotches and burst capillaries" Just what you want to hear for $150 bucks when you are already panicked about turning 30, but I digress.
Basically I spent a ton of money to be insulted. I decided to write this review when talking with one of my girlfriends last night about the horrible experience SHE had. So clearly my experience was not an anomaly.
A let-down for a seasoned spa-goer.
This spa tries to be something it's not, especially based on the advertisements. Granted, it is a medical spa, so the whole place has a clinical feel to it -- sterile decorations, bright lights, no music, no nourishment for the soul. Upon entering, the desk staff was talking loudly on the phone. This was not condusive to relaxation. It was like a doctor's office. The staff was friendly, the place was clean, but it did not measure up.
For example, the shower, the steam room, and the hot tub were just warm, not hot. On a 30 degree day, I was looking forward to heat therapy. I asked a staff member to please adjust the hot tub from 95 degrees to 104. She did, but the monitor never reached 104. The hot tubs were very small. Two people could fit into one and would bump legs while sitting. The whole spa area was the size of a locker room and very cramped. They advertise a cool mist pool, but I never saw it.
A sign states that guests are to not touch the sauna controls, so I had to dry off, put on my robe, and go to the front desk to ask that the sauna be turned on for me. They were quick, but the sauna never heated up to a nice, hot temperature, even after dousing the coals.
The most food and beverage they had to offer was a lukewarm glass of water and a bag of sweet potato chips loaded with preservatives and artificial ingredients.
My hand treatment was not worth $20. It lasted 20 minutes, and 15 of it was laying with my hands in heating pads. Again, no music was playing to engage me, the room had no warm, ambient lighting, just gloomy, filtered light from the window amongst shadows from looming skyscrapers.
I was shocked that without a service, they charge $50 just to use their spa facilities. Chateau Elan offers warm service, ambient lighting, ambient rooms and music, an attentive staff, complimentary hot tea, citrus water, trail mix, and apples, all for $25-$35 to use the spa facilities as a day guest.
Nothing would make me return to the Hammam.
Ohhhh yeaaa. Absolutely tranquil..
I booked an entire day for both me and my boyfriend. They closed of the shower, sauna ,jacuzzi area so that we could have it to ourselves for 30 minutes. Facials were relaxing and educational - the best so far. I don't really remember my full body massage, so I guess it was average. The Vichy experience was wonderful and left my skin glowing for days. It's my first, so I want to try other day spas and compare. The shirodhara was very intense and put my into a deeply relaxed state. Unfortunately, I was ripped from my dreamlike trance when the oil ran out and began an arrhythmical drip on my forehead. This became disturbing after a minute, so I shifted and it fell into my eye which stung. This was an accident of which I'm sure if I did it again, wouldn't repeat itself. Conversations were light and humorous, especially when we were both wrapped up like warm burritos in our seaweed wrap. Our massage therapists were very attuned to our personalities, and always addressed our needs and concerns.
All massages and body treatments, with the exception of the Vichy shower, were done in the same room together. The lunch was delicious and they even provided a ringing bell in case we needed anything while we had our meals. I thought the bell was little garish, so I never rang it. Still, it was really fun. I had a pedicure afterwards in another private room with a beautiful view of downtown. Although the pedicure was average, I thoroughly enjoyed the conversation with my pedicurist. All the staff were very friendly and treated us like were were the guests of honor. They have such a large array of services, treatments, and products. Each person who specializes in the different products and services were able to answer all my questions without any sales pressure. I'm such a spa junkie, and I'm still trying out other day spas. However, I definitely want to go back to the Hammam again if I have the money and the time! So far it's the best.
There is NO other spa like this. Ms. Barnett is just upset she is no longer with the company. She created self-proclaimed "fake" reviews when she was with us, and is now backtracking to say that what she wrote was not true. As a consumer, I find anything she would have to say hard to believe at this point. Outside of this, The Hammam is a wonderful spa that offers complementary sauna, steam room, and whirlpool; features that are not offered by other spas. Our staff is experienced, professional and we as a whole take sanitation seriously. We do not discriminate against anyone for any reason, and do not understand where this statement comes from. We have many return clientle because we provide excellent customer service, clean facilities and superb services. We welcome anyone to come a take a tour of our facility before they book an appointment.
great customer service and a beauitful place.
thank you so much for a wonderful time! That spa is beauitful and the staff was grand. We had a couples massage and a couples pedicure.
I strongly recommend tha Hammam, great time all around!!!. thank you!
A little taste of heaven on earth!!!!!!!!!!!!. First and foremost I am the biggest spa LOVER in the entire universe (atleast thats what I think) so when it comes to spas you really have to impress me. Let me tell you....The Hammam is probably one of the nicest spas that I have ever visited in my entire history of spa going. When you walk in you are immediatly taken away. Everything was soooo nice and beautiful. There were rose petals and candles everywhere. I really felt like I was on a mini vacation......The staff was excellent. I really enjoyed the complimentary services such as the foot scrub before my massage. Most spas usually throw you into the room and onto the table as soon as you walk into the door. The place is very spacious and it also has a seperate area in the changing room that has a jacuzzi, steamroom and a dry sauna. That is also complimentary.....I will definitely tell everyone I know about my experience at this spa. I was breath taken!!!!!!! Im currently planning a spa party there for a group of friends and I. GOD BLESS THE HAMMAM!!!!!
Unreliable- beware when booking off site!. I spoke to the manager and booked her at an off site location for a trade show for my company. We spoke the day before to confirm and get details. 15 mins after the agreed upon time, NO ONE was there! Now, I look bad and we don't have a masseuse in our booth. The woman at the spa was a bit rude speaking to one of my colleges, then she told me that my college was rude. Who cares who's rude-GET ME A MASSEUSE NOW!!!! After 30 mins of panic a male massage tech arrived-I had specifically asked for a female. Disappointed to say the least.
WOW!!. I'm a Renewed woman. Thanks to the special attention that i recieved during my day at the spa. The customer service was AMAZING!!! I can't wait to go back. They even got a cab for me so that i wouldn't have to sit outside and wait!! Great group of people!!
