GONE DOWNHILL! Won't return... – I have been to this spa on several occasions and am sorry to say the most recent visit will be the very last. We were offered tea, and then thought perhaps they forgot us, as it took a good 30 minutes to get it-then had to wait another half an hour while people that arrived after us were served, and no one said anything about running behind or the time lag at all.
I have to agree with previous post-the couples treatment was not great and they didn't offer the
steam and shower. When I asked to use the steam, they let us, but it had a drainage problem and was a bit gross.
The dressing room is way too small for more than one person at a time. The shower did not drain and there were blotches of mold.
I don't care if it is free-I won't return.
Really rude phone staff! – I haven't even had my massage there yet (it's a gift) but judging by the way the phone staff has treated me on both occasions (unacceptably rude), I'm not really looking forward to my visit. The spa should really have someone courteous & friendly making their appointments. It sets the tone for the entire visit.
above average facilities – we enjoyed the experience. we had a variety of treatments, enjoyed the rain shower treatment best, had a meal served in a private room Prices above average, but would go back. Biggest annoyance was obsession both therapist had with draping, they used towel, blanket, sheet etc.
it was distracting from the massage.
The spa is a mixed bag – I've visisted the Hammam twice. First for a manicure and pedicure, and second for a couples massage. The manicure and pedicure were fantastic. The woman who treated me was kind, knowledgeable and funny. However, the rest of the visit was nothing special. The waiting room for the spa feels both like a clinic and also very pretentious. When I went for the couples massage, I was unimpressed with the couples treatment room. Although it is spacious, we were only in the room for the duration of the massage and were not offered to use the room's private steam room/ shower. The massage was also nothing special. It was relaxing, but it was definitely clear we were part of a long line of other bodies waiting to be massaged. For the cost of the spa, I wouldn't recommend it.
Perfect place for R&R for two! – The only complaint that I have is the steam room. I suppose the drain wasn't functioning properly because the steam puddled on the floor. My feet were sloshing in ice cold water.
Other than that, other services were perfect with smooth transitions between. Lunch provided was delicious and not "health nutty".
Prices are more expensive than most other spas. Treatments are more or less the same with the exception of having a private couples suite with steam, sauna, shower, and hot tub. That couples shower is incredible! You also have to consider that it is a medical spa in Buckhead. They offer services specifically for post cosmetic/plastic surgery.
The entire staff was fun, friendly, knowlegable, and very accomodating. Not pushy, and spoke in gentle tones. I felt at ease the entire day as they catered to every need. I would go again and I reccomend it to anyone- especially couples.
The Best Spa Experience I've Had – I love this spa. They offer more services than most places. I highly recommend the Vichey Rain Bath if you haven't tried that before. The environment is a true retreat. After a 1/2 day visit, I felt so spoiled, this is the spa I will continue to return to.
Experienced Spa-goers....don't bother – Locker room too small, they were 30 minutes late, jacuzzi area is co-ed, foot scrub was okay but why in the hallway??? oh, and they do validate parking but you have to ask. Either you do or you don't. For what you pay that should be standard without the games. Natural Body Spa is a better value for the money. I did have high hopes for this one
Welcome addition to Atlanta – I go to Phoenix every year and the spas are incomparable. Hammam is a nice start for Atlanta. It's nice to have the jacuzzi/steam/sauna with a massage and makes it worth the higher prices.
I've been twice, both times had an excellent massage and the staff is very friendly. My one complaint about service is that both times, the "55" minute massage only lasted about 45 minutes. It's supplemented with a foot scrub at the beginning, but I'd rather not have that and have a full 55 minutes of massage.
My only other complaint is that the jacuzzi jets are not very strong and the steam room has been inoperational on both of my visits.
The dressing room is very small but okay if the spa is not busy, and the showers and amenities (lotion/shampoo/etc.) are nice. There was no pressure to buy products, though they were available.
A True Spa Experience – My spa treatement was like none I have experienced. It was WONDERFUL. The sauna, the jacuzzi, the water elixir, and the waiting room. This was all before any spa treatments. I, along with 3 relatives, was in town for the holiday. This spa was recommended. I had no problems with my reservations. The staff were so helpful. They kept in constant contact with me before and after I arrived in town. Once at the spa, it was just total pampering. The foot treatment before my massage, my facial, everything was just wonderful. I will come again on my next visit to Atlanta. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Closest to a Spa RESORT in Atlanta – I've been to a resort with a spa that included full service such as a hot tub, sauna and steam room, and an environment to relax in before, in between, and after treatments... so I have been spoiled by this and cannot appreciate anything less. I searched and searched online and in spa magazines trying to find a spa in Atlanta that provided those same services. When I arrived at the spa it definitely exceeded my expectations. I cannot express in words how wonderful my experience was. My sister just graduated college and was soon moving aways so I wanted to provide her with a memorable and cherishable gift. She could not thank me enough. The staff was very considerate, caring, and friendly. Treatments are a little bit more expensive than others in Atlanta but not by much considering all that is provided for free
