What People Are Saying About Queen of Sheba Ethiopian Restaurant

In Short – Nothing on Sheba's menu, replete with the hallmark comfort stews of Ethiopia, suggests the extraordinary, so the depth and complexity its fragrant dishes boast is a thrill. Little on the menu disappoints, but the burnished, red-pepper-sauced options, earthy and intensely flavorful, are standouts. Braised collard greens, ubiquitous on Ethiopian menus, are especially good here--mildly gingery and buttery, with a full, mellow richness redolent of something that might have simmered on a Southern grandmother's stove.

Editor's Tips

On the Menu:
Ethiopian menus are fairly meat heavy, but vegetarians should find much to love in the handful of lentil stews and veggie preparations on offer.
Know Before You Go:
Ethiopian food makes for surprisingly good leftovers--the stews' flavors deepen even further upon sitting a day or two, and well-wrapped injera doesn't suffer from the ills of staleness quite like most breads do.
The Extras:
Time permitting, call in advance and give the traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony a go.

Cash, Visa, MasterCard

One of my favorites, Great atmosphere, Savory food, Friendly Service

by deevah678 at Citysearch

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. The service is always friendly, the food is always amazing, and the atmosphere is relaxing and cozy. This restaurant is a great date place for couples that enjoy unique dining experiences. This isn't a good dining option for stubborn "meat and potatoes" people, but a great option for people who enjoy ethnic dining and new food experiences.

I always get the meat and vegetable platter that comes on top of the injera. I always trade out the tripe though for extra chicken or lamb instead. Everything is wonderful and the food pairs up very well with red wine.

  • Pros: One of my favorites, Great Atmosphere, Wonderful Food, Friendly Service

Classy and warm atmosphere

by boydgt at Citysearch

The service at the Queen of Sheba exceeded expectations as servers were warm and friendly. The food was well worth the wait, and the price was affordable for a family of four. I do recommend ordering appetizers, as the wait for your entree may take a while, but the atmosphere allows for excellent conversation as you wait for your meal. Whether a vegetarian or meat eater, Queen of Sheba has something to offer that provides great food with an excellent cultural experience.

  • Pros: Very warm and cozy atmoshere, affordable prices
  • Cons: longer than normal wait for entree which is why I recommend ordering an appetizer

Not Good

by avery99 at Citysearch

This was my first try of Ethiopian food so I have nothing to compare it to, but I will say that it was not good. I consider myself pretty open to eating various ethnic foods and haven't tried one that I didn't like yet. I felt that this restaurant was expensive for what we got ($10 for one chicken leg, on hard boiled egg and some sauce - yes, ONE chicken leg). The beer was reasonable ($3.50 a bottle). The service was lacking and because we had 6 people at the table, they automatically charged us an 18% tip. I know I will not be going back to this restaurant and I don't think I'll be eating Ethiopian food again.

  • Pros: parking, cheap beer
  • Cons: taste of the food, service
