The Scene – This cozy neighborhood hangout is tucked into an alley off Poplar. Inside, a long sticky bar dominates the room; friendly bartenders keep the drinks flowing as the night wanes. A thumping jukebox belts out alterna-pop and old standards as it competes with the club next door for sound domination. Regulars are a mix of off-the-wagon yuppies, students and offbeat characters who have a passion for conversation. We've taken to hitting up SideBar after work some days to play trivia and have a drink. Upstairs is kind of dark and closed-in but downstairs is like a special secret hide out. With pool and basketball and large booths for groups this place is great. And they have electronic trivia that starts every 30 minutes and free consoles so anyone can play. We have a great time having a beer and challenging each other to a rousing game of trivia, or two. Service is a little slow and removed, but since we're not working on a tight schedule it doesn't really matter. And it's only a block or two from the Marta station, so we can still get home at the end of the night/afternoon.
- Pros: electronic trivia for everyone
- Cons: slow service
Not much in the area to compete with, but its not bad

A decent hole-in-the-wall with food that is utilitarian, at best. Great for people who are staying at hotels on Marietta street, as there is not much nightlife in this area.
- Pros: In an area that needs bars
- Cons: The food isn't very good
