The Scene
Filling-station chic meets a Johnny Rockets-like retro vibe in this neighborhood barbecue joint. The cozy dining room is a bright, clutter-free stab at greasy-spoon decor (an old-school Coca-Cola sign sits above a counter flanked by padded stools), which nicely contrasts with the homey, backyard feel of the central patio. Chipper servers keep the order line moving, but famished downtown professionals and nearby Cabbagetown residents don't mind the wait, as they're free to watch their orders being prepared in a small, sparkling kitchen.
The Food
Don't be fooled by the Styrofoam containers; this isn't throwaway barbecue. Pork ribs strike a perfect balance of tenderness and flavor, while fall-off-the-bone chicken is agreeably seasoned and sports a savory outer skin. Chopped pork, salty and swimming in sauce (hot or mild, both tangy), is a delight. Hearty french fries and zesty mustard greens stand out among the sides.

Try the ribs, they are the best. Tne place interesting and great for a quick pickup. Fry are generous and the wait is usally pretty short. Stop in, you will be surprised.

i went there for lunch today and was very disappointed. i live very close by so i was excited to have a bbq place i could frequent. while the service was pleasant and the spicy sauce quite tasty, i would not suggest going here. i got the bbq pork plate with pinto beans. the beans were bland and the pork was fatty and "mushy". it was almost as if they boiled the meat rather than slow roasted it. had the sauce not been as good as it was i wouldn't have eaten what little i did. the "texas toast" was even sub par. just go to Fat Matts or even Fox Bros...
