“The spa waiting room was full (no where to sit) and I did not find it comfortable waiting in a room with 15 other people while you wait for them to call your name.”
“definitely recommend finding a good independent therapist or finding a small business - this place is just about numbers.”
“My hot stone massage was the best I have ever had (and I have had many), and I will definitely go back.”
“Now thats what you call great service.”
“I've always received outstanding service, and the price and convenience is unmatched.”
Dont waste your time. Are you kidding me? This place calls themselves a spa, what a joke? The employees are rude, and unprofessional. Went one time and upstairs they are out of tea and water. The spa room was dirty with towels everywhere. I tried to give it another shot cause I live right down the street from it, made an appointment then when I showed up thrity minutes before time the lazy staff with major attitude said that I was not on the books and I must not have made an appointment because they close at 7:00. They did not even say sorry, they just acted like I was crazy and stared at me. I will NEVER go to any Spa Sydell location again! I have called the manager and will be shocked if she calls back to ensure quality customer service...doubt that.
way too pricey for what you get. For my first massage experience, it was an okay one but way too overpriced. The thing that bothered me the most was that my therapist talked the ENTIRE time. As soon as we were done talking about something, she would have to bring up something else. I couldn't fully relax. The best part was the leg massage, and the ambiance was nice as well. I will probably not be going back because the spa on paces has much better reviews and at $15 cheaper. I didn't know if you should normally leave a tip but now I wish I hadn't, I spent a 15% gratuity on her so the whole deal came out to $100, for a massage that I don't even think lasted the entire hour. I'm fairly sure I was screwed on time but I don't know. I hope massages are better than this because frankly I don't even want another one.
Avoid Spa Sydell!!!. I was looking forward to FINALLY using 3 old spa gift certificates that I had received as gifts for my upcoming 30th birthday, but was informed that I could not redeem them because they are over 2 years old. That's over $400 of my friends' and families' hard earned money that they flat out STOLE. I am a VERY busy person and unfortunately haven't had time to take off a whole day to spend at the spa until now. I looked forward to a nice relaxing day at the spa for my 30th, but now I have to inform my friends and family that all their generosity went to waste. Money is money... these gift certificates should not expire. I realize prices may have changed, but I was more than willing to pay the difference. I will certainly be telling all of my friends and family to never buy me another gift certificate from this corrupt company again, and I warn everyone to avoid this unprofessional business like the plague! They aren't even that great of a spa to begin with.
STEAM ROOM ARE NEVER WORKING : WASTE OF MONEY: DRIVE THRU DAY SPA. I HAVE BEEN GOING TO SPA SYDELL FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS. I DON'T KNOW IF IN THE PROCESS OF GROWING THE BUSINESS THEY FORGOT TO INCLUDE CUSTOMER SERVICES. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING BACK TO THIS DAY SPA. ALL YOUR SERVICES ARE RUSHED THEY PUSH YOU IN AND PUSH YOU OUT. DAY SPAS SHOULD BE RELAXING IN THIS CASE YOUR JUST A NUMBER. THE LAST SIX TIMES I HAVE BEEN TO SPA SYDELL AT THE BUCKHEAD AND MIDTOWN LOCTION THE STEAM ROOMS ARE NEVER WORKING. THEY SHOULD MAKE CUSTOMERS AWARE OF THIS WHEN MAKING APPOINTMENTS. WHEN YOU WALK OUTSIDE THE SPA THE THERAPIST ARE SITTING OUTSIDE SMOKING LIKE THEY ARE IN A BACK ALLY SOMEWHERE. CUSTOMER SERVICES RATING THEY GET A NEGATIVE 99. THE CUSTOMER SERVICES IS REALLY BADD. THEY ARE TO MANY DAY SPAS IN ATLANTA THAT PROVIDE A RELAXING ATOMOSPHERE. THEY ARE ALWAYS OVERBOOKED AND FOR THE PRICES THAT YOU PAY YOU CAN GET BETTER TREATMENT ELSEWHERE. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DRIVE THRU SPA UNLESS YOU ARE IN A HURRY TO GET SERVICES.
UNCLEAN, LOUD, DISGUSTING SMELL.
you would never know that this is one of their fairly new spas. I went for a massage yesterday and have never had a worse experience. After waiting 15 minutes to even get to the second floor...I go to take a shower before my massage and the showers are broken. the plastic shower head is dangling to the floor. (this has been like that for a month now?) I walk outside to wait and I smell the most disgusting smell - like sewage...I just kept hoping it would get better. My massage SUCKED! I felt disgusted the whole time not to mention the noise of hearing the couple next door. And it is really dark and when I turned on the light the carpet is COMPLETELY DISGUSTING, is it ever cleaned?
As I left I complained about the smell and they agreed with me with no apology, saying a toilet might have overflowed...NO APOLOGY. I left a complaint and still no call. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
THERE WAS A GLADE PLUG IN IN MY MASSAGE ROOM!!!!! I never leave reviews but have to warn others. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!
I had heard good things about Spa Sydell but it was a completely disappointing experience. On a whim I decided to get a massage. I wanted one that day and made an appointment for a massage in 45 minutes. I got there about 10 minutes early. I had not been there before and wasn't told to arrive earlier. They checked me in and sent me upstairs to the dressing room to change. I changed quickly and then waited outside about ten minutes for the therapist to get me. I went in to the room and got under the towel. By this time it was 15 minutes after my appointment so I ended up only getting a 45 min. massage and paid $70 for it.
Not only did I get screwed on time, the massage itself wasn't worth the money. In my opinion, a good therapist can adapt to their client's needs. No matter how often I asked her for more pressure, she just didn't get it. SInce I move from state to state a lot, I have had massages from many different therapists and I have never had such a lack luster massage- especially at that high price. Nor have I had to wait for the masseuse to come get me and then dock me for her lateness. I should have known to get there a little earlier, so 5 minutes of that time was my own responsibility.
Good massage option in Midtown. I redeemed one of those burgundy gift certificates at the Brookwood/Midtown location, and I was pleased. The massage was average, but too short (aren't they all?). Changing facilities included several showers and a sauna, plenty of towels, washclothes, robes and slippers, toiletries, etc. Everything was clean and quiet. This isn't the best spa in the world, but it was nice. I would return to this location.
Worst maggage I've ever had and I will never go back - even if it's free!. My husband and I went in for a couples massage because someone bought us those big burgandy gift certificates they advertise on the radio. My massage was painful and the girl said she just didn't know any other way to do it. It hurt. It stressed me out. And I will never go back - even for free! My husband never complains and he said his was fine. Also shower area smelled moldy which made me think the place wasn't properly cleaned and disinfected - gross!
Hidden charges; Bad customer service!.
While the staff at the Midtown location appears friendly, there seems to be an overall and palpable sense of boredom, which is more overtly expressed by the people in the bottom floor lobby, cashing out the customers as if you were in a grocery store. In fact, I was even refused an itemized bill!
Be careful if given a gift certificate!
The people at Midtown Spa Sydell will not take the appropriate notes to be certain you receive what is on your gift certificate. Of course, you are free to change your service ? or cash it - into something else. However, I asked for what was on my certificate and was instead given a service of over three times its value! As you can imagine, I ended up paying.
In summary, the spa technicians may be average to good. Nonetheless, the customer service is terrible, from cashiers to the director of the location.
For a relaxing time, please take care and look elsewhere...particularly if giving a gift.
Could you imagine the person you are gifting having to pay, instead of receiving what you designated for them? ...Unbelievable!
Be aware of hidden charges and their re-scheduling policy, which they do not make clear or try to explain at any time. I was charged without being notified.
