“The spa waiting room was full (no where to sit) and I did not find it comfortable waiting in a room with 15 other people while you wait for them to call your name.”
“definitely recommend finding a good independent therapist or finding a small business - this place is just about numbers.”
“My hot stone massage was the best I have ever had (and I have had many), and I will definitely go back.”
“Everyone is really nice and I haven't had a bad service yet.”
“I've always received outstanding service, and the price and convenience is unmatched.”
So glad I gave them a chance!.
Hubby bought me a gift certificate for a manicure and signature pedicure. While trying to find the location closest to me I saw the unfavorable reviews. What to do? My husband knows how irritated I get with poor customer service. He meant well, but of course I had to be honest.Should I tell him to get his money back so I could go somewhere else? So I told him my dilemma. He is my best friend after all. He'd understand.
He did and suggested I give them a call and get a feel for it right after he apologized for not knowing that the reviews weren't so good. Anyway,I tried to find the location with the best reviews first and it was this Midtown location and I see why!
From the front desk to my services I was greeted with courtesy, professionalism and care. The parking was simple.I get concerned with driving downtown (don't like to deal with all the one way streets).
Joy, my manicurist, kept my tea cup full and the pedicure area was private and relaxing. I could have fallen asleep. She's warm, detail oriented, knowledgeable, chose a beautiful color that I would not have selected for myself that complimented my skin tone and she's passionate about her art. I received the signature pedicure which included two exfoliating scrubs, a mask on my legs, steam towel wrap and of course ....massage :-).
My legs were tingling, and my feet never looked better! Finally, a flawless pedicure! My manicure was wonderful too, but I don't usually do my nails. Polish doesn't stay on unless I get gel polish. So she recommended a nice soft color that I really like since I was not getting gel polish that day.
So, please check them out! If you had a poor experience at a Spa Sydell, try this Midtown location before you throw in your steamed towel and don't forget to ask for Joy! Her name says it all :)
Loving the new services!.
I went in and met with the doctor doing Botox. nothing was rushed, I did not feel pressured at any point. Her was very informative and answered all my questions. It was a free consultation so I felt I had nothing to lose.
So I got Botox, Radiesse and he plumped up my lips. Wow this Doctor knows his stuff. I look fantastic! I was really afraid I was going to look fake, but so not true. I love my lips, and the rest of me looks amazing. price, well worth it for results like this!
Spa Sydell Does Not Pay Their Employee's. I have worked for the spa for a while now, and they consistently write bad payroll checks. We work hard and are loyal, and come pay day it's always a gamble whether or not your check will go through. I bank with Chase, and the teller even told me that she see's it all the time. How embarrassing. The CFO of Spa Sydell is driving around in a nice BMW, and is in the process of building a new home. Hmmm, makes you wonder! The technicians are commission only, there is NO excuse for our pay checks to bounce, over and over again. I guess I'm the fool for staying with them, but I will not stand for it anymore. Everyone should know that this company is writing bad checks and god only know's where the money that you are spending there is going!!!
WORST spa ever!.
I had my weddig in Jan, and got my MANICURE at Sydell Spa Buckhead on my wedding day. With a spa that level, we would expect decent and professional service, but we were WRONG!
The manicure was horrible, not only did the lady (Kiki) mis-use the cuticle treatment resulting in chemical peeling of my fingers and hands, but also the nail polish was done so poorly it started forming "bubbles" within an hour of the manicure. It was my biggest day--my wedding day and my hands were ruined by Sydell spa. I took photos of them. I emailed them twice to complain, but did not get a response. They charged $30 for a basic manicure! If you don't want your hands (or any part of your body) ruined, you need to rethink about going there. I have photos of the chemically damaged hands if anyone wants them.
Great service, great value!. I've been to three of the Spa Sydell locations for services including massage, facials, and air brush tanning. I've always received outstanding service, and the price and convenience is unmatched. I recommend Spa Sydell to my friends and co-workers and have heard nothing but positive feedback.
Spa "Supreme" & "Top Class". I visited the spa this past weekend, and what a delicious treat. The must ask for services are the facial by Asali E., the pedicure by Irma A., and the massage by Jeri R. And don't forget to order their delicious "Gourmet Lunch". Everyone from the front desk to the spa technicians were just wonderful. I can't wait to get back there for my follow-up appointments.
Best Massage ..ever!!!!. I had a deep tissue massage @ this location with Charles and it was amazing. I've been hurting for a while and wanted to get released. I love deep work and he is the best!!!!!!! It was hurt a little during the massage but couple days later I felt soo much better. highly recomended.
Avoid Like the Plague. I tried to go to Spa Sydell for a manicure and pedicure before my wedding, and it was a huge mistake. I have always received adequate service when I had a massage or a facial, but the nail technician was another story. She was not friendly and inconsiderate. On top of that, they only had five colors to choose from for my polish. I immediately left only to return from my honeymoon and discover that they had charged me a no-show fee. I could not believe it! The only good thing is that after several phone calls, I was finally able to receive a refund for the charge.
Best in town. Talk about saisfaction; not only was this facility very clean and orderly, but the staff was absolutely brilliant. They displyed wonderful customer service and excellent massages. I feel asleep from my ne hour massge for 2 and a half hours with no interruption. Now thats what you call great service. If you have had a long stresful day let spa sydell help take some of your troubles away.
Too scared to go back.
Sydell Harris - I hope you read this. You are the one that can change things for the better at the Midtown location.
I visited the Midtown location of Spa Sydell in the middle of April. My husband had given me a half-day spa certificate for my birthday and I wanted to redeem it with a massage and facial. I arrived early and everything seemed OK although I could not find a locker that would lock so that I could safely store my personal items. After finally finding a locker that would lock, I was greeted by the technician who was going to give me my massage. As she worked through the massage she kept telling me to breathe deeply and relax. OK, I need to relax. Then I was told I was fat, needed to go to the gym more often, I must hunch over my desk all day and that's going to turn me into a hunched over old lady. I was also told that I might want to consider going to a yoga class more often. And if I couldn't make it to a yoga class, that I really needed to consider getting some yoga DVDs. Basically, the techinician was saying that I was fat and too tense and that's why the massage was, in her opinion, not going well. Instead of being pampered, I was being punished. This technician was clearly frustrated about something and was taking it out on me. I was in tears and abruptly left the room to put on my clothes. I did not stick around to receive any of the other services I had scheduled that day. To their credit, the manager was mortified and did reimburse me for the massage and added $50 to my gift certificate. The manager acknowledged that there have been problems at this location and that she was brought in to improve things. Quite frankly, I hate to see anyone lose their job, but I hope this massage technician was fired. I want badly to name the techician in this review but I won't. I'm not here to smear anyone's name or reputation but they must improve their approach to customer service at the Midtown location.
