“If you like expensive food, horrible service, and a cheerful wait staff that stands up to derogatory comments after forgetting your order, than this is your place.”
Best Sushi. Its a little bit expensive but definitely worth it. Thursday nights it gets a little crowded and loud...and the wine is a little pricey. But they have very unique rolls, and really fresh fish.
Nothing spectacular. Very disappointed with this restaurant. I should have walked away once I smelled rotting garbage right outside their front door as you walked up. Sushi was very bland and nothing spectacular for the amount that we paid. Way too expensive for what we got. I totally agree with the review by Rdm789.
Better mediocre sushi than bad sushi.. Extended a business trip into a little vacation. Girlfriend looked online for a sushi bar near hotel. Sushi nami had many good reviews, so we decided to give them a try. Was skeptical at first since it was in the same building as a Chinese Bistro/Restaurant of sort. How do I say this without sounding biased-too late. Where we come from in Florida there are numerous sushi bars operated by Chinese people. They have seen that so much more money can be made by serving sushi than Chinese food. So now anybody who can roll a few rolls and throw together some sushi is an instant sushi chef. Quality has gone out the window. I can say this because I been a sushi chef for over twenty years. Sushi can be done properly/well by ANYBODY but the key word is properly. Back to Sushi Nami-the menu/wine list was excellent. So whoever set it up did an excellent job. Good variety, some unique items, and some very traditional dishes that only a well trained chef in Japanese cooking would know. Hmm, perhaps my instincts were off this time. WRONG! The kitchen food was terible. The Tempura Udon soup had absolutely no taste. It came with THREE pieces of tempura. One shrimp and two vegetables. The udon will cost the owner less than a dollar-extremely high profit margin item. Get the soup right for GOD sake. If they didn't know the recipe, then buy a book or Google it. We also ordered three rolls-medeocre at best. They were put together okay, just didn't have the right sauces/combination to qualify it as good or great. So we choose the three wrong rolls-I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. I did not complain to the server because it was not her fault. Ate what we could, asked for the check then drove down the street for Chinese food. Disappointed but I hope they make it. Don't believe everything you read. Atlanta is a great city and deserves a good sushi bar. Better mediocre sushi than bad sushi.
Love Sushi Nami.
Nice imaginative selection of rolls along with some surprisingly good appetizers makes this restaurant a must when in town. Definitely try the Ahi Poki appetizer and the crème brulee ( I know, crème brulee in a sushii joint, but its good)
This was our second visit to Sushi Nami (DEC 09), and my colleagues and I were pleasantly surprised that the waitress remembered us from from our last trip to Alpharetta back in March. Her recommendations were spot on and the service was excellent.
This restaurant is on par with some of the better sushi restaurants I've visited around the country. They might not have a huge sake list or the biggest selection of nigiri-zushi, but for the price, this place rocks.
Great Food, Great Service!.
Hi,
My husband and I were looking for a quality sushi place near our home in North Atlanta. We drove by Sushi Nami and gave it a try. The experience was great! We got some great sushi rolls and our waitress was amazing to say the least! I think her name was Kim. She is the only blond waitress there. She was so sweet and friendly to my husband and I! Some of our friends that also went bragged about the food and the same blonde waitress. Go and check it out! Promise you will love it!
Sushi Nami is Authentic and Japanese made!. Sushi Nami is an excellent find for Sushi lovers! They have an excellent selection of sushi and high end Sake as well. Sushi Nami has plenty of parking. Sushi Nami is clean, and the service is good. This is a real sushi place!
A must go to. I loveeee Sushi Nami. They have great sushi. One of the servers takes foreevverr, there is a blonde server that is really sweet. Me and my girlfriends went there on Valentines day and she made it a great night. Very sweet and funny. The sushi is great!!
Excellent Sashimi. I've been in town for 4 months now, and have eaten here once a week. Never disappointed - great sashimi - very fresh - good selection - good service. Try it!
Best sushi I've had in Atlanta - IN ALPHARETTA!!. When I was told about this restaurant I was skeptical, to say the least. Sushi OTP, let alone in Alpharetta? I'm happy to report I was completely mistaken in my assumption. Not only is this the best sushi I've had in Atlanta, but this place has made it into my top 5 favorite restaurants to eat at in only 2 visits. The sushi is delicious, well prepared, and fresh as fresh can be. The menu is creative with new rolls (which are divine!) but also traditional as well. HIGHLY recommended.
A VERY Rare Find.... I've been to all the top rated Sushi restaurants in Atlanta, and I can guarantee that you won't find fresher fish anyplace else. What makes Nami a step ahead of all the rest is its casual atmosphere, near perfect cuts/presentation, and an unbeatable selection of Nigiri. To top it off you can even get REAL Wasabi, not the green colored English horseradish so many have become accustomed to. The chef has all the regular rolls you'd expect to find at your average restaurant, and over two dozen of his own creations with several containing no rice for the carbohydrate conscious. This Sushi restaurant is ideal for everyone from the beginner to the most persnickety coinsure. Be sure to try the New York Strip Roll and the Ahi Poki...
